In short: My favorite race In full: My second year of running 3FM. Was just as though this year without the mud. Love this race. Superbly organised. Great feed stations with friendly marhalls. Great value for money. Found out from the organisers that the elevation climb is the same as climbing Snowdonia. See you next year!!! Date of review: May 10, 2013

In full: 2nd year of running this one. Very wet and freezing cold, but that's character building and adds to the fun. Thanks to the marshalls and supporters for braving the weather. See you next year :-) Date of review: March 18, 2013

In short: A top race In full: The positives. Fast, flat 10 miler, PB potential, superbly organised, great crowd support, great marshalls and very beginner friendly. Yes, people are overly optimistic and go in the wrong waves, walk in the first mile etc, but I don't mind (even if I am stuck behind them).
I would rather people make the effort to get off their backside, get involved and hopefully find a passion for running. It also raises loads for charity :-)
The negatives - it's expensive, but it's iconic, so I'll be back Date of review: October 30, 2012

In short: Great potential to be a top half marathon In full: Great improvement on last year. This is one race which will continue to get better and better. Vastly improved route with lovely scenery in the university parks and running along the River Thames. A great touch to have Roger Bannister start the race. A nice medal and technical t shirt too. The only niggle was the baggage reclaim and parking but given how the organisers took on feedback from last year, I'm sure this will improve in 2013. See you next year! In short: Cold, wet, muddy and hilly. What more could you want?? In full: My first 3FM. Absolutely loved it. Cold, wet, heaps of mud and loads of fun. A challenging, hilly course, but glorious scenery. The extra mile is a really nice touch. Note to self, trail shoes are good when running a trail run! The marshals were fantastic - anyone that sits for hours at the top of a hill in cold, wet weather deserves a big thank you. Great feed stations with cake and jelly babies kept me going. This is easily one of my favourite races and I'll definitely be back next year. Date of review: May 9, 2012

In short: Great fun and well organised In full: A much better race than expected. First time I had run it but used it as a warm up to Brighton, Milton Keynes and 3 Forts marathons. Great atmosphere and beginner friendly. although the start needed better organisation. Loved the stadium finish. Will be running this again as a spring half - far more interesting than Silverstone HM. Date of review: May 1, 2012

In short: Fantastic marathon. I'll be back In full: Absolutely loved it and had a great time. Only my second marathon and I've booked to run it again next year. The course is a little undulating in the first half, but what goes up, must come down. Superb organisation, friendly volunteers and great support from the crowd. Yes, it has it's tough points, particularly up by the power station, but then so does every marathon. As others have said, it's not an alternative to London, it's a great marathon in it's own right Date of review: April 19, 2012
