In short: Organisers laid on perfect weather conditions for this quality race In full: In the past i have struggled with a fast time on this course but extra hill training and interval training combined with the good conditions enabled me to set new PB. Event as always excellently organised, support on the course fantastic. Never ceases to amaze me how many people are out on some of the remotest parts of the course. Marshalls as always very encouraging and so too all the support people on the baggage and bananas! Date of review: October 24, 2012

In short: Brilliant to run in same race as Mara and Mo around the olympic marathon course - extremely well organised even down to the weather In full: Cracking road race, well organised. Despite the hot weather managed to shave a few seconds off PB so that helped make it even more enjoyable day out to London. One tiny criticism that the organisers may want to address:- the water mist to cool runners down really needs to be looked at - for a 10k in the heat probably get away without needing them but for the elites in the olympic marathon if the weather is anything like sunday you need something a bit more substantial! In short: Unique opportunity to off-road in places usually closed to the public In full: Organisers described the route as undulating, well first two miles there were no undulations it was uphill all the way. After that the downward undulations never seemed to match the upward ones! It was amazing route to run round the clay pits which in some places looked like another planet - amazing! In short: This was a tough race that gives a real sense of achievement when you finish In full: ECH and the people from Pensilva and surrounding area should be proud of such a fab event. Support on the course in some of the remotest places was amazing, water stations brilliant - kids spotting your number and getting your personal energy drink ready for you - well done. As you tire at around 15 miles you get a real boost at Jamaica Inn before the more sedate 6 miles following the river Fowey. Crowds at Golitha really made up for all the aches and pains before the last 4 miles which are tough. Predominantly club runners but I was still made to feel really welcome. Excellent T shirt and goody bag. You also get a medal and the bonus was cup of tea and pasty at the end. Value for money - superb! Excellent organisation and a nice one to finish the season for a well earned break before Brown Willy on New Years Day. Date of review: November 21, 2011

In short: Well done Truro running club - another fab half In full: Weather threw almost everything at the runners today but that just added to the fun. Don't know if i'm alone but I clocked 13.27miles on my GPS and I reckon i did follow the correct route! Finish in lemon quay is great. Lovely place to end, coming out the tunnel to the crowds who are enthusiastic all round the course. Date of review: September 18, 2011

In short: Enjoyed my first go at this seaside event and was not dissappointed. In full: Very well organised, plenty of water stations, good quality t-shirt and medal was excellent value. Route was predominantly flat with some interesting hills thrown in, I don't usually like the more than one lap but it kind of suited this event. Marshalls on the course offered huge support. Just waiting for the officil results to see if they confirm a new PB by 1 second! Only criticism which is a pretty minor one is any chance of having the race clock more prominantely positioned in the finish straight. Couldn't see it until right on top of it. In short: Last year it was sunny. This year freezing, windy and driving rain - certainly a challenge! In full: The weather on top of the mendips could not have been worse. Driving rain, at times horizontal, howling wind and cold - in June! In places mud up to your ankles and despite this I understand from the organisers entries on the day out numbered entries in advance. Date of review: June 13, 2011

In short: Nice race. In full: I look forward to this mid week summer run. Always sells out and not surprising as it is a lovely small event which is very well supported. One note to the organisers - I now have enough water bottles - thank you! Date of review: June 10, 2011

In short: Enjoyable race despite the challenging hills! In full: Looking at last years reviews seems the organisers have made improvements. Car parks well signposted from A38, Start well signposted from car parks. Route is certainly challenging, I don't recall any flat bits - either going down hill or up hill for the whole race! Marshalls very enthusiastic along with spectators who were brilliant at cheering you on up and down the hills. Jelly babies being handed out were very welcome too. Date of review: May 1, 2011
