In short: Well organised, scenic and well supported in places. Hillier than you think. In full: Couldn't fault the organisation both before and during the event. Plenty of enthusiastic marshals and plenty of water stations along the way. Support where present was good, with a great finish along the race course. Nice goody bag as well. Also to have the organisers Chris and Andy shake your hand at the finish was a really really nice touch.
The only downside was that it was a bit more hilly than I thought. If you can find a way round the hill at mile 24 I might just be back! Date of review: October 15, 2012

In short: Not the most scenic of routes but a nice friendly race all the same In full: Nice to start and finish in the stadium, and to be able to wait indoors before the start, given the wet weather. Course had a few inclines more than I thought and isn't the prettiest. Decent goody bag, although no medal!? Everybody nice and friendly. Easy free parking a bonus. Most likely do it next year. In short: Great potential once all the problems are ironed out! Good day in awful weather In full: What could have been a great event was let down by some poor organisation and the weather (although that can't be blamed on anybody but the 'big man'!). Despite the cold, rain and wind it was enjoyable (honest). Support on route was fantastic and marshalls were brill. Most likely will do it again, as the weather can't be as bad second time round. In short: Well organised fun event for all abilities. Well done Manchester a great day out. In full: Having done this race (and others like it) before I knew what to expect, and it didn't disapoint. The sheer number of runners starting in each wave made it very crowded but that's what these races are all about - getting lots of people who are not runners into running, I know of at least 15 people who had never entered a race before running and all thoroughly enjoying it. Good atmosphere from both the runners and the crowd. Agree that unless you start at the front then a PB will be difficult but then that's not really what these races are about. In short: Very very wet yet very very good race. In full: Despite the rain (which nearly made me turn around and go home - but glad I didn't) this was an excellent race. Despite the first half being up hill and the rain, I still managed my target of sub 2-hrs,on what turned out to be a very enjoyable course, even with the final hill up to the bridge at about mile 11. Support was good despite the weather and the route was traffic free which is always a bonus! Goody bag OK, nice T-shirt and even nicer mars bar. Date of review: October 13, 2010
