In short: Lovely Ultra around rolling rural land In full: My first Ultra and really enjoyed it, though my toes don't seem to agree! The course is beautiful and very easy to follow until the last half mile. I read last years reviews and this was mentioned then, so really surprised a few more arrows hadn't been put out around the back end of the town. The previous 30 miles had great signage. This is my only complaint. The marashalls did a fantastic job with smiling friendly faces, which always helps when you are knackered! I would certainly return as this is a must do race as far as I am concerned. A very big well done to all who helped this event run so wonderfully. Must mention the Yew tree forest which made me stop in my tracks and just take in the most fantastic surroundings. Enchanting is the best word I can use to describe it. In short: Hilly and beautiful. In full: This is just the most fantastic race. The views are perfection, the organisation was perfect and the hills a little energy sapping! Got severe cramp at mile 21 which continued until I finished, yet still loved every minute of it. Can't wait to do it again and all for a worthy cause. 10 in 10ers truly amazing as well. In short: Hilly, wet and fantastic fun. In full: Tough race up and down the hills of the langdale valleys. Did plenty of hill training before the race and was very glad I did. Organisation was fine except not getting our numbers and not having our names on the t-shirt, even though we entered months earlier. Computer error it seems, but it was a new system for this year, so hopefully spot on next time. Marshals had a tough day in the rain and yet still cheered us on, thank you. This is the hardest thing I have ever done and I can't wait to do it again. Date of review: September 29, 2011

In short: Fast, flat and fun In full: Second year I have run this super flat race. This is perfect for getting a PB, especially if you can run quick during the summer! The organisation is fantastic, t-shirt superb and I have never seen so many prizes handed out at a 10k. This really is a wonderful race in aid of a great cause. Do it next year, you will love it. In short: Fantastically organised hot half In full: Really enjoyed doing this for the first time. The organisation was perfect and the route was through some very nice rural roads. The locals really help by getting on the streets and cheering you on, it was needed in the heat of the day. The sponges and showers came in very handy as did the plentiful water stations. Will definately do this tremendous half again. Date of review: June 21, 2010

In short: Hilly, muddy, friendly and fun. In full: This is a great trail run with loads of different surfaces and views. It was well organised with very friendly marshalls who really helped, especially when handing out the jelly babies! Some tough hills, but rewarded by going down the other side of them, eventually. The river was cold but refreshing. Will definately do again. Date of review: May 3, 2010

In short: Flat, fast and a little breezy In full: Well run race on a super flat course. The unusual wind, it is usually on your back running north round her, made it bit more energetic. It wasn't bad though, people who think it was should come here on a windy day! Would definatley do it again to try and improve on the PB I achieved today. Date of review: October 11, 2009

In short: Great pb course In full: This is a super flat course, that is perfect if you are looking for a PB. It was a bit hot this year but has already been scheduled for October next year to avoid the heat. I found it friendly and am sure next year the water station issue will have been sorted, the organiser has already stated that he is aware of the problems and will resolve them for next year. May very well do the full marathon next year. Date of review: September 17, 2009
