In short: Great race well marshalled for the first attempt In full: Great race, shame about the bottle neck at the start, the race could be started in the main road, at one point there is narrow bridge before you turn left, the traffic was held back to allow the runners to cross, but the Marshall did try to stop the runners so that the traffic come cross over.
When doing the last few miles a small part of the road should have been coned off toward allow runners to do the last few miles on the road, instead of the pavement.
On the whole a excellent race and well managed Date of review: September 21, 2014
In short: Good hilly 10k and well marshalled In full: Good hilly 10k , just a few things that could be address for next year, inform that the car park at the centre is a pay and display and not free on Sunday as if you park on the main road its free on Sundays, proper baggage area and not the lockers as not everyone has a pound coin also time clock at the finish, and road sign to the event, as when the race was at Cliff wood there were road signal from the time you left the motorway till you got to the school. In short: Excellant hard race but great pre marathon In full: Well managed it was like clock work, the weather was hot for the runners, but recovered on the beach with some lunch made a change Date of review: March 28, 2012
In short: Over all well managed worth doing In full: Well managed, but is a same that at times you get people trying to cross the road with there dogs or bikes, also anyone that seem to finish after 2hrs had trouble getting a goody bag Date of review: February 29, 2012
In short: Well organisated, shame about the goody bag In full: Getting to the Baggage area for the pier was not easy as there was a lot people standing around the start/finish line making if difficult getting past them, then there was the charity tents to get past as well, to get round them the runners were moving the barriers to easy the bottle neck. The goody bag l would have expect a cereal bar instead of leaflets'.
On the plus side the route was very good, to get the hills done first when you are still fresh, but you still get a few people in the way of the course which can cause some problems when you are running in a pack.
In short: Very well managed, it gets better every time In full: The race is well managed, and the water stations and marshall's are as always joyly and supported, as for the hill at 7.5 it a killer but when you have reached the top you know at least the worse is over.I have done this half since 200o, its a good half and well managed.
