In short: Mostly excellent course and good value
In full: A really decent race. Good course, undulating in places but nothing too harsh. Rubbish weather of course meaning getting soaked and a bit cold, but well used to that now. Really good value with a decent medal and technical T shirt. Cheerful stewards. Only downers were the car park being over a mile from the start and car dodging being needed in some parts of the course. Otherwise a really good race some of the more established races could learn from. Hopefully do it again next year.

In short: Cold, wet and windy
In full: Never been so cold and wet. No one could help the conditions, but the organisation of the race is another matter. Top class price paid for second rate organisation. Start was delayed needlessly, No gels by the time I got to the stations. Mud bath at Dunham was a joke, if I want to do multi terrain, I'll enter multi terrain races. Baggage problems at start and end of race well.. its all been said. Support was fantastic though, made me proud to be a mancunian.

In short: Great scenery, kind weather and a tacky 'memento'
In full: Glorious scenery and for once kind weather made this a very memorable run. Not sure why this was billed as a 'flat' run, its hilly, my Garmin graph looks like a rollercoaster. Biggest disappointment was the bespoke slate medal advertised had somehow become a 'bespoke' plastic bottle...Whats that all about? (money?) Unforgivable Mr race organiser, took the shine off an otherwise enjoyable day out.

In short: The good, the bad and the ridiculous
In full: Should have been, could have been a great race. Ideal conditions, nice course, good support in places, expensive but happy to support the charity organising it. All turned a bit sour though with the extra 0.4 of a mile. Goody bag? what goody bag I didn't see one. 200 mile round trip to compete. Next year? Hmmm dont think so
