In short: Great midweek race In full: One of my favourite 10k's - always good support from the marshalls and the crowd and the weather always seems to be decent too! (cursed it for next year!) Added bonus is the finish is right by the pub! Decent course for anyone wanting to have a go at a PB. Well done to all involved. Date of review: May 5, 2011

In short: Tough, rewarding race, beautiful scenery and great finish In full: Very difficult conditions today, very warm with horrendous winds which made those climbs very tough in places and also made PB's difficult to achieve. Very smooth organisation from start to finish, excellent T Shirt and nice touch reading names out at the end. Generally the marshalls were encouraging, particularly the lady who was cheering everyone on just as you came into the racecourse, it does make a difference so thank you to all for your support. Well done to all involved, think this race is always a good barometer as to how your form is moving into the summer. See you next year! Date of review: May 1, 2011

In short: A good marker for the year ahead In full: A good, well organised race that is challenging but rewarding too. This one is a race I call a 'proper' race, no fanfare, medal, tannoys, etc... just a real, down to earth run with a great group of runners. Thanks to the marshalls and organisers, Bryan Dale for the photo's and well done to everyone taking part today. Date of review: March 13, 2011

In short: Great Autumn Race! In full: Lots of up's, lots of down's and some great running amongst lovely scenary. Marshalls were brill, organisation was spot on (well done Mark!) and the encouragement from spectators through the route was excellent. Nice touch with the bag as a momento too rather than a medal! A new PB too which I worked damn hard for so extremely rewarding. I'll do this race year after year for all of the reasons above. Date of review: September 19, 2010

In short: Tough but rewarding race In full: This race deserves respect with some tough hills thrown in but there are also some good flatish/downhill sections to claw back time. I thought the organisation of the event and marshalls were excellent today, so very well done to all involved at Trentham. Looking forward to next year already! Date of review: July 18, 2010

In short: Everything a half marathon should be In full: Just an awesome race, this year I just ran below my half marathon race pace deliberately to enjoy it for the first time in 3 years and it made it fantastic just to soak up the atmosphere and remember why I love running in the first place. Thank you to my fellow Stokies out there for your support, you did us proud as usual! Date of review: June 16, 2010

In short: Great midweek race! In full: A 10k course that is either up or down, I'm sure that there aren't any flat strecthes! Really great, challenging race but one which just seems to fly by. Fun run before the main race was the most well organised fun run I've seen, my little brother ran it and it was a nice touch that medals were given, hopefully it will encourage a new generation of runners. The weather was great for the main race, overcast with litle wind and no rain. New PB by 2 minutes so I was literally buzzing for a good few hours after! Well worth making the effort after work and would recommend this race to anyone. Date of review: May 6, 2010

In short: Great, challenging race In full: Second time I've done this race and I've fond memories of it as it was my first race that I ever did last year when beginning running seriously. Organisation was top notch, everyone was friendly, marshalls were great and weather was lovely with a cool breeze making it a great day. Beat last year's time by over 4 minutes and set a new PB to boot by 3 minutes so over the moon. Well done to everyone involved today and Newcastle AC for the set up and organisation. Looking forward to next year! Date of review: April 18, 2010

In short: Challenging but sadistically enjoyable! In full: Very windy day but glad for the cool breeze as that sun was hot when the clouds cleared. Didn't know what to expect as it is the first time I have ran this distance, I've not ran anywhere near it in training so a new experience all around. Hilly course in places, loved running through the village of Salt during the first lap and thought the scenery all around was pretty nice. Didn't mind the 3 laps as I knew what was coming next and that helped me plan the run pretty much after the first lap. Stewards (most of them!) were excellent and really gave you encouragement and Bryan Dale shouting encouragement at the end was great and gave a much needed boost up to the finish. Definately a challenge but worth it. Date of review: March 14, 2010
