In short: Definitely one of the best races, and I've run a fair few! In full: Totally agree with the rest of the comments made. It was an amazing race. I didn't know about the Hills until I reached them - probably shouldn't have bounded along so fast at the start to have had s bit more energy to tackle those hills. But I was running them with a smile on my face!
Only small quibbles - no tea or beer left at the end ( I was position 501/617) and the strains of the brass band faded as I ran up the last hill which was a bit disappointing. They had gone by the time I finished. But small things compared to the overall great experience. I shall be back next year! Date of review: July 2, 2012

In short: A shock to the system for a road runner like me, but enjoyed the scenery and the sense of achievement of having finished In full: I usually do 2 hours for a road half marathon and did 2 hours 25 minutes for this one which gives you some idea of the terrain. A good change from the road though Date of review: July 19, 2009
