In short: Missed the start and the chip timing as I was queuing for the loo!!!
In full: Race started on time, down a narrowish road but I wasn't with it as I was still in the loo!!! - the number of loos, as has been said before was woefully inadequate. I eventually got to the start a good seven or eight minutes late by which time it was too late to use the chip timing and I don't think I was the last. Thanks to the marshals who radioed ahead to say I was on my way. Cheery marshalls and army cadets at the drinks station. The downhills more than made up for the uphills. Was feeling under par today but enjoyed the trail and the scenery - more toilets please next time!!!!

In short: Glorious Scenery and Weather
In full: Choose this race over Bath and how glad we were after doing Bath for the last two years. We were in and out of the Car Park in five minutes so we must have been lucky, although we did leave plenty of time and arrived 45 minutes before the advertised start. We found plenty of loos - with little or no queues (apart from the four near the start). Markers seemed a little inaccurate and some marshalling a bit hit and miss - nearly got run over by a cyclist - had no idea they were racing!!! but the scenery and weather was second to none and the announcer was superb cheering everyone through the finish. Nice medal and Fruit of the Loom T-Shirt - good value compared to Bath. Would definately do again - worth the trip and we live just outside of Bath. A nice friendly atmotsphere and quite laid back. Really enjoyed the day.

In short: A Grand Day Out
In full: Not bad all round. The route's fine, a very slight climb up the Portway and the two inclines near the end were short. Not too many marshalls on view as far as I could see - some sat on the floor whilst the Army Lads struggled to get the drinks out of the packaging - had to do ourselves on a number of occasions but a damn good effort by the cadets. Far too few toilets for the competitors and spectators and us girls don't have the option of peeing any old place like the guys do. Shame about the cotton t-shirt given the entrance fee and the jelly split all over the rest of the stuff but a good bag and medal. Weather was fine and the support fab along the way.

In short: A Very Pleasant Evening Out!
In full: An undulating course, as described - the downhills more than made up for the hills. Yes there was traffic but ample signs warning drivers. To shut the roads would make the race a whole different ball game - and much more expensive. The marshalls were helpful and cheerful as were the water marshalls. A very plesant trot out through some lovely countryside. A first time for my friend who really enjoyed herself. Much preferred to the big Bath and Bristol races. And a lovely goody bag at the end.
