In short: Nicely organised, well marshalled.
In full: Windy, damp, and a fairly lumpy course for a coastal race. Mix of seafront and housing estates with a short section of offroad. Very well organised with plenty of friendly marshalling, frequent water stations and a small but perfectly formed goody bag without the usual selection of leaflets for recycling. Provisional results up on the website the same day, which I think is also excellent for a non chip timed race. Thanks to the organisers and marshalls.

In short: Low key and enjoyable
In full: Fast flat course if the wind stays off. 3 water stations (one of which you pass twice) so no big gaps between water. Also water available at the finish. The pedestrians/cars/mountain bikes mix at the end was a bit of a pain, but if you have enough left to sprint the home straight you haven't raced hard enough, right?

Marshalling was friendly, and occasionally very encouraging. With a rural route such as this I don't expect a lot of support from spectators.

Low key rather than cheap would be my description. Many thanks to Martin and his team. I'll be back next year.

In short: Good start to the year!
In full: After being delayed for a week due to snow and ice, this race was held on 2nd Feb. A small field due to the postponement meant the narrow footpaths alongside the A20 weren't too much of a problem. Fairly uninspiring route, with a few undulations to keep it honest. Organisation, as I always find from Velocity Events, was spot on. No frills, but everything required to make it an enjoyable experience.
