In short: The most sincere and genuine marshals In full: Such a lovely course, but goodness it's by no means a flat course!
The aid stations were manned with really charming marshals, well stocked and suitably placed.
My only feedback would be the start & finish position. If it had started nearer to the race HQ up the hill, the walk back after finishing would have been easier. (Yet not effecting total length...
I'll be sticking to road races, not trail in future. (That's a very personal thing, it's an excellent race) Date of review: May 4, 2013

In short: Excellent In full: This is my second and probably not the last time running the BM.
OK, minor inconvenience having to pick up numbers at the expo, but really no different from any other bigvinternatinal marathons I'd run.
If I had one fault, it would be the amount of loos at the start, it really needed more, the queues Date of review: April 15, 2013

In short: A great race with no attitude In full: It was nice to partake in a decent size club race, excellent organisation, a very simple route with excellent marshals.
Faultless (although mighty cold!) Date of review: March 24, 2013

In short: Well done Team at Naked Strength, far superior to 2012 In full: A challenging, hilly, cold and windy course. Marshalls upbeat and very supportive, nice touches on the 3/6th snack station (the poor marshal contending with wild ponies).
Good well ordered car parking, hot & clean showers.
The highlight of the day, the Compere Nickie. Added a real sparkle and level of fun/energy.
Really well done, thank you for being so responsive to last years feedback. This race should grow and grow now. Date of review: March 10, 2013

In short: Not to be taken too seriously in the run calendar, but an awful lot of fun..... In full: At points, it made me wonder 'do we really need to go down the hill, just to come back up'?
It would have also been better to have some more straight runs, as others had said existed in previous years?
Given at points of the course, you are upto your nexk in freezing cold, filthy muddy water, a bit more consideration to changing facility at the end would have been appreciated, perhaps even a shower???
All said and done, great run, lots of laughs, very nice organisation. Well done. Date of review: November 11, 2012

In short: I'm thrilled to be the first to rate the 1st class In full: I'm always a little nervous about new races, especially with a strong field.
But goodness, these guys have pulled off something that is just brilliant. This will become a BIG race in the UK calendar.
Organisation was first class, the locals had clearly bought into the event, as crowd support was brilliant.
Seriously guys, I couldn't fault this race. A massive well done to the organisers, council & authority.
I smiled as I thought about the Olympic legacy. This is a shining beacon.
Rather amusingly, I took today easy, I'm running a marathon in 2 weeks, yet got a massive PB. I've stopped alcohol until post marathon, so chuckled at the can of beer in the goodie bag.
I need to stop writing, but seriously, I've ran 30/40 half marathons. This is the best by a country mile.

In short: Challenging run, then the clue was in the title In full: Nice to speak with so many runners, often trying to find the way! It was hot, and I should have been better organised with own water.
A faultles, low priced run. Great works
(and great hot showers) Date of review: September 9, 2012

In short: A good easy, no thrills race. In full: Nice organisation, pleasant route, hot showers afterwards. Great race. The staff at the Hub dealt with some rather rude female runners rather well who insisted on using the gents toilets, despite being asked not too. (I hate trying to use urinals with females cracking jokes about shy men).... Date of review: September 2, 2012

In short: 20 miler, with potential, but definitely not achieved. In full: At the start, I thought we was in for a special race. Thought it was genius using a camp site as a base, clean loos, hot showers and even a good pub on site. Transit to carpark good on arrival.
But it didn't really deliver. Chap on the bike very friendly, and 1/2 other marshals supportive, but on the whole was like have 'agency staff' standing looking depressed. And as for the water situation; massively dehydrated, unable to use any gels because of water situation. And wow, the mini bus back to the cars, it was like being on a gran prix.
It should have beeen an exceptional race, but it just failed on some key points.... Date of review: March 11, 2012
