In short: Highly recommended - Liverpool at it's best
In full: Brilliant race - agree with all the good points already made. Organisation first class, route so much more attractive and interesting than I expected - miles just flew past. Good feeling from the start - relaxed atmosphere in the park, choir singing , no queues for the toilets, efficient baggage handling, sensible seeding in the pens. Friendly runners, marshals and spectators. Considering how much an event like this must cost to organise and quality of medal and t-shirt I did think it was good value for money. People have to make a living and I didn't feel ripped off. We were very lucky with the weather - perfect running conditions. Not an obvious PB course but I'm thinking now that I know the route not impossible next year.

In short: Thought I wouldn't like a crowded, city marathon complete with characters in fancy dress - how wrong can you be?
In full: Brilliant race. Fantastic atmosphere. Wanted to thank every spectator personally. Organisation faultless. Lucky enough to be in smaller green start - crossed the line in seconds. Volunteers and marshalls so helpful all along the course - was particularly touched by baggage people clapping as we walked past at the end and this was after over 8000 finishers. Made to feel very special. Surely it doesn't get much better than this? Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Didn't live up to it's reputation - dissapointed.
In full: This was my first marathon and despite doing a reasonable time I was expecting so much more. I found much of the course rather monotonous and dispiritng - being able to see how far ahead you still had to run while running alongside those who'd turned the corner and where on their way home was difficult psychologically. Organisers can't be blamed for the heat and there was plenty of water on route but once you reached the finish there was chaos. In general poor directions and transport at a time when I most needed help and clarity.
