In short: Great Value, Nice Run, Friendly People, Free food! :)
In full: Other than the delay to give out the prizes due to chip timing problems it was a brilliant local race which is extremely good value for money. I doubt they will bother with chip timing next year anyway as you won't run a pb on the course and it's really not that important. Marshalls were very helpful and friendly, as were everybody I spoke to. Well done!

In short: Nice park, flat(ish) course with lots of twists and turns, lady at registration just plain rude!
In full: The idea of online entry is to get everything sorted before the morning of the race and securing entry. Not sending race numbers out defeats some of the point and when you get to HQ and a rude woman behind the desk accuses you of trying to "blag" your way into a sold out race without paying you can end up pretty annoyed! Luckily I had a smart phone and was able to access my emails to show confirmation of entry. No apology, just a grunt.

There was a bit of confusion on the start line, with some "noise" coming out of a speaker which nobody could hear! This resulted in somebodys car being towed. Still, all sorted and waited for the gun (which never came, just somebody shouted go and everyone sort of stumbled over the start line! I pretty much started on the start line but for others, the lack of chip timing may have affected their times (not hugely in a 320 person race).

The course was quite nice through the park. Not 100% pb fodder as there were a lot of twists/turns and a few undulations. It was also a little slippy on the corners which cost me a bit of time. Certainly a reasonably fast course though. Marshalls were friendly and people who were there to support were nice.

No goody bag (which doesnt really bother me) but rather a better than boring generic medal and a wagon wheel! The desk lady was a little more friendly upon the finish line but to be honest the damage had been done!

In short: Top Dog. Flawless organisation and probably the flattest course in the uk!
In full: These guys really know how to organise a race. If they could move the start/finish to allow it, this race could become one of the biggest 10ks on the UK Calendar. With the wind as still as today it's a lightning quick course! Goody bag is great and the atmosphere in Southport was really positive. Well done!

In short: A very tough but enjoyable 1st marathon!
In full: Did the full marathon (my 1st) and came thru halfway comfortably in 1.34 before hitting the wall in a big way around 22 miles and staggering to a 3.26 finish! The watersports lake section was extremely tough, the support there was appreciated there but I think i'd have preferred to suffer in silence by then!

I was very impressed with the runners village, the medal is very nice and all the staff were very helpful. The only reasons why I may not race here again are it's too far to come (from Cardiff) for a half marathon and there are plenty of other quicker full marathon courses that I'd like to try. Great day tho!
