In short: Best thing I've ever done on a whim!
In full: I only joined a team the day before the event after a last minute team drop out. I had been trianing for other events so was pretty confident I'd be fine.
The whole atmosphere of the event was so friendly and welcoming with all different abilities of runners all chatting and supporting ecah other.
I ran as part of a team of 7 and did 4 laps oeverall, I am planning on treunring next year as a team of 5 so I can squeeze in another lap hopefully!

In short: A half with the atmopsphere of a big city marathon!
In full: What a great event, two years ago I ran this as my first ever half marathon and I was scared. Now, two years on I tackled it with much more confidence, knocked 10 minutes off my course PB and loved the atmosphere, although didn't remember it being quite so hilly!
Running many smaller club runs it's nice to do something on the scale at least once a year. The runners never seem to thin, you always have someone nearby to keep you motivated and the water stations were very friendly especially the american footballers who spotted my name on my shirt and hollered after me for ages (very uplifting!).
I will be back, maybe another 2 years and see if I can knock off another 10 minutes! Not likely but good to aim for something.

In short: Many improvements on last year, just not my time ; )
In full: This race is perfectly timed as a marathon training run, I ran it last year and came back for more as had heard about the improvements made. Moving the start made a huge difference as those last 3 miles on the airfield in 2010 were tough so much better to get out of the way sooner this year!

Water stations seemed slicker, with more volunteers (very cheery bunch) and plenty of sweets and gels... I wouldn't recommened the Vanilla flavour though, it made me gag!

Having the toilets spilt into two areas seemed to work better but a few more would still be beneficial as ever.

A friendly note to spectators though... wait for the start before you get in the toilet queue, us runners need it more than you do!

Overall a good race, was pleased to only miss my PB by 20 seconds, maybe next year eh! Friendly, well-placed and encouraging marshalls - thanks for standing in the rain for us crazy runners!

In short: Loved the family who cheered us on with instruments!
In full: Overall a good race, easy to find, good parking (I arrived early). Good encouragement from most of the marshalls and one family who seemed to have brought out tambourines and the lots to cheer us on!

I would echo the comments of of reviewers that after running 13.1 miles something like an energy drink, banana or simialr would have been beneficial especially given the walk back to race HQ.

Missed the t-shirt although I did like the bag, always useful!

In short: No mist but definitely a Gorilla!
In full: Fantastic race with such great support from all the marshalls and organising team.

Woody was a great a addition keeping the kids entertained with dancing, frolicking and sharing his banana's with the runners!!

Nice selection of sponsors/stands with some good freebies to be had... you can never have enough travel size toothpaste!

In short: I'll be back next year, and I'll be bring the rest of my club!
In full: This was an excellent race, you expect a few problems with a first time event but there were none I noticed! Very welcomming for first timers and all abilities.

The course was lovely with great PB potential, strange to get the t-shirt before the race started but actually makes a lot of sense as you got the size requested... not always possible at all races as can be first come first served.

The marshalls and predestrains on the Worth Way for very encouraging and all so supportive and positive it was a real boost, especially to my mum, as her frist 10k race!

I will be back next year and looking for a good time, I was so impressed I'll be getting the rest of my club to sign up too!

A medal next year would be nice!

In short: Treat it as a fun run and you'll enjoy it more!
In full: the down side.... no portaloo's until 2 mins before the start of the race, the race distance was wrong (I got 6.35 miles), and at least half of the marshalls were not at all encouraging and misplaced towards the end... small clusters would have been better if spread of in final half mile as several runners went the wrong way, myself included.

the plus side... the race is very local, good for hill training as a challenging off road course, lovely scenery, no problems with local dog walkers etc and raises some money for a good cause. Some good support at the top of the hill and special thanks to the lady with her girls handing out water to those in need!

Overall, a good race if not taken too seriously! Just enjoy the beautiful Scadbury Nature Reserve and practise those hills!

In short: Water to order!? Sing-a-long Happy Birthday
In full: As my first race back after injury this was perfect, a nice flat course, good route, easy parking close to the start plus a very enthusiastic fella with a mic trying to persuade the guys into the urinals!

Slight problem at the first water station, where it seems the water was being poured to order, not great and many just went without to save precious seconds.

The medal was poor and I think it was a little naughty not to have date/location on there and make you pay £4 to get it engraved!

Despite these little gripes I really did enjoy the race and were my journey a little shorter I would definately do it again. Nice tough with the warm up pre-race, and singing happy birthday to one runner!

Overall, none of the problems from previous events, well doen to energised for getting these things sorted.

In short: First marathon and I will be back for more!
In full: As my first marathon I just wanted it all to go to plan and enjoy the day, it was fantastic, I loved every minute of it and would happily have signed up again on the finish line for next year!

Great spectator and marshall support, the streets were filled. my only regret is that I didn't jump in the see afterwards!

Well done to all who were involved and all those that ran... see you next year?!
