In short: Loved It! In full: I did this race back in 2009 which was the first year it was staged and it was great to see how it has grown. More runners, marshalls, stalls, prizes etc. Good to see the worthwhile charities being supported having a presence and helping out with stalls etc as well.
There was a fantastic atmosphere and it was nice to do a run on a Saturday for a change. Note to race organisers: Not everyone wants/is able to do races on a Sun!
Well done to all involved :-). Date of review: April 12, 2011

In short: A few problems... In full: I have been waiting for the results to be posted to see how accurate they are but despite the official after the race saying they would be posted online 'within 72 hours' they haven't been.
As has been mentioned by others the main problems are that the race was not as advertised. Namely it didn't start and finish at Alexander Stadium, it wasn't road (track and fields), the KM markers weren't 'every KM' (there weren't any!) and the course wasn't totally flat.
Dispite the above it is in a good location and the marshalls were encouraging so it has definite potential. Just a few issues to iron out... Date of review: November 3, 2010

In short: Great local race In full: Really enjoyed doing this race, despite the mentioned hills! Actually they didn't seem as bad as I'd been led to believe.
Redhill Road Runners did a great job and the marshalls were encouraging - thanks guys :-).
The only thing I thought wasn't very good was the momento at the end - an empty kit bag! Personally I'd have prefered a medal. The entry fee wasn't expensive though, so no biggy. Date of review: October 12, 2010

In short: Great Event In full: This race just seems to get better and better and bigger and bigger each year! Nearly 1000 people entered this year and with great organisation, chip timing, a quality wicking t-shirt and a big goody bag you can see why :-). Date of review: September 12, 2010

In short: Well organised race with PB potential In full: Despite not quite managing a PB I still enjoyed the organisation of this race and the course was pretty flat as promised. My only negative comments would be that few people could hear the guy on the loudspeaker at the start and that the route was quite narrow to begin with. Overall though a great race. In short: Race with a difference - midweek and tough! In full: Not sure what to make of this race really.
First impressions were poor. One of the main routes to the venue had a road closure and there was poor signing to the venue. I made it just in time but would have expected (and been happy with) a delayed start. Also the toilets were horrible.
But it wasn't all bad with lovely scenery and the heavy rain stopped just before the start! Also the lady marshall near the end (just at the start of the last big hill) was very encouraging.
If you want a PB potential I'd look elsewhere. But if you want a good workout and practice at hills, this one is worth a look. Date of review: April 30, 2010

In short: Good ... and Bad In full: Did the 10K. As mentioned by others the Registration was a bit of a pain. 1 queue including both pre-entered (like me) and those entering on the day. Loved the time trail format though and was a fast course. Nice medal but goody bag not worth doing in my opinion and still good value was cheap to enter.
Hope to be back next year.

In short: Chip Timing for a 10K?! Great job done. In full: Loved the chip timing - don't think I've ever come across that for a 10K before. Overall a good race and before someone complains about the queue to get out of the carpark - a tip - take a book and read it for 10 minutes before you leave. I drove straight out!
Nice medal (didn't really need a t-shirt as well in my opinion) but would have been nice to have been 'presented' with one rather than collecting it off a table.
Hope to be back next year. Date of review: March 14, 2010

2009 Worksop Half Marathon

In short: Great Half-Marathon through beautiful scenary In full: This was my first half-marathon and despite running out of stream at 11 miles I throughly enjoyed it. There was no major problems and the pre race info (regarding parking etc) was excellent. Loved the chip timing and the fact it was traffic free. Afterwards it was great to be emailed a link to photos taken on the day.
Having your name on the back of the t-shirt (if you entered early enough) was a nice touch but personally I'd still prefer a medal!
Thanks to all the marshalls, organisers etc. Heres to next year! Date of review: November 3, 2009

In short: A well organised special race. In full: Considering the size of the field this was a well organised and run race - well done to Chris Cox and his team.
As mentioned by another reviewer I too would prefer a medal instead of a t-shirt.
If you are thinking of doing this one remember to save something for the hill at about 6.5K! Date of review: September 15, 2009
