In short: A friendly welcome for my first 10 miler!
In full: Was very pleased the undulating description was just that, some fairly long 'slopes' but nothing too intimidating for a beginner. A small field and was a little worried when it seemed everyone sped off at the start but found a couple of running buddies on route that kept me going, so thank you! Well marked out course, lovely marshalls and plenty of water stops.

In short: Tough ascents but speedy descents!
In full: Was dreading the hills and although they were tough, they do come down again! So a chance to recover and make up a bit of time. I normally don't like races that repeat laps or sections but I didn't mind this one as I knew the downhill section towards the finish was coming and spurred me on! Good atmosphere and friendly. Very nice medal, only queued for the loo for a couple of minutes and I didn't mind not getting a carrier bag, I don't like them anyway!

In short: Wet and windy but good atmosphere, challenging hill for beginners
In full: Soaked to the skin and freezing cold to start but brightened up halfway round. Fantastic support from the marshalls, especially in the awful weather. The hill after half way scuppered me a bit as a beginner, as did the strong headwind approaching the stadium and round the track at the finish. Great goodie bag and sense of achievement on finishing.
