In short: Agonizing bliss
In full: My first trail race, and a tough first 4km - the first time I'd walked in a race while still overtaking. Truly amazing views at the top, with some fabulous spine jerking downhills, the last 4km next to coniston water was a suitable reward for the previous 11km. Excellent organisation and a good weekend away

In short: Better than prozac
In full: A good half marathon all round. The organisers warned to leave early, and despite the autumnal start, with the road closures we still managed to miss the start, due to heavy traffic.

Based in the New Forest, the road winds through tree covered canopies to the open scrub of the Forest, skirting through small villages in a 1-lap course. There are 2 main hills, which are easily accessible, one at 6 miles and the other at around 9ish with an otherwise a fairly flat route. Of the finishes in our car, all achieved PB's. Drink stations (more than advertised) + lots of support despite the rural area made this a fabulous day out.

In short: Had been warned about those" hills" but when it came to it they really weren't that bad. Actually quite enjoyed them and I am usually no hill enthusiast! Wasnt planning on the heat-- last 2 k were murder in that sun !
In full: Water station at 8k rather than 9 would have been better. My first ever race so overall impressed. Missed my Pb but I blame that on the heat-- Will aim sub 53 for next year-- hopefully--weather permitting!
