In short: Low hassle low cost great run
In full: It is great just to turn up, warm up and run with no 'pressure'. Being quite local and having run before was prepared for the hill but seismic activity in the area since last year seemed to have made it even steeper and longer. How people can moan about £1 for parking for charity I do not understand. I really enjoy this event.

In short: Well done Ware
In full: Did this one to support my daughter's Club so we had a father daughter team. Marshalls were excellent and whole event much more laid back than many. Just a few minor things to iron out on the course but definitely one to recommend as a change from the many road events.

In short: One of the best 10 kms in the area
In full: Having done this one for most years it is definitely one in my calendar. There is little to fault it. Top marks for organisation, marshalls and officicials. More toilets are definitely needed and I am sure the entry fee could be increased to provide some funds for a few portaloos which would be appreciated by most of the runners.

In short: Well done Barrow Runners
In full: As a entrant to the National Vets Championships I feel this was a great success. After a long trip round the M25 and up the M1 there was no hassle and the organisation seemed excellent, especially for only the 2nd running of the event. Thanks to the marshals who gave excellent support and encouragement around the course. There is potential for PB's but as with all open courses the wind can be troublesome. If I lived nearer this would certainly be one to do again.

In short: They don't come much better!
In full: Having competed in the Datchet/Dorney Dash since its beginning, the Lake venue is fantastic compared to the old trudge round the A4 and other local roads in Slough. Cannot fault the organisation. As a very long time runner I have tried to work out how I never achieve the time I expect on this pancake flat course. Indeed my best Dorney Lake performance came in an Asthma 10 km on a cool, windless, misty morning- so perhaps thats the answer. I have also seen theories that long straight flat courses are not always the quickest because of the boredom effect. Will analyse further next year!

In short: Well done to the organisers
In full: This race has ironed out most of the bugs over the years. However, why do we have to have such a narrow start? As Marlow Bridge and High Street are closed, why cannot we start on the road. I am sure the few yards lost at the start can be added in somewhere?

In short: If you did Bath Half last week this was perfection!!!!
In full: Have been doing this since the mid-1960's so am hooked but do not like the initial 4 miles otherwise course is fine although rather exposed on a windy day! Thanks to all the helpers: baggage and course marshals were great. Well done Maidenhead.

In short: very poor for a well established race
In full: Having first run one of the first events in the 1980's thought it would be nice to do it again especially as it was the Vets National Championship, I'm in good form and I got a free entry. Thought after many years the organisation would be excellent. However,I was a bit worried when I read about the Park and ride arrangements and it turned out to be a (forseable) disaster. As to the delayed start- I could not believe that and under such dire conditions. All the hassle certainly did for the time I hoped for and am capable of. Shame because the course and local support appears to be great. My heart bleeds for those who shelled out £30+ for the priviledge. Why do people do this when there are many smaller, cheaper and very well organised race to choose from. The only thing that will bring me back if picked as the venue for the Vets Championships and that will feel like blackmail.

In short: A testing 10 miler
In full: The race itself was great despite being hard work and not helped by the wind, with friendly marshals and officials.

It is a shame that there is no headquarters as such or shelter from the conditions. I could find little information on the website about the event beforehand, no previous results and had to ask quite a few people where it started and finished when I had parked.
