In short: 2009 was better
In full: .... ok the weather was poor for 2010, but the organisation seemed even more of a washout than the weather ....

Main criticisms:

* No mile markers - for the beginners this must have been a nightmare; having done the run last year I pretty much knew the route and how far it was;

* 'secure' bag storage - well it was an unmanned 'mini marquee' - if I had known how unsecure it was, I would not have left anything behind, also bags ended up in mud .... my dry clothes that I should have changed into at the end, were 'wrung out' outside Starbucks to the amusement of other drinkers!

* too many runners for the narrow pathways on the north side of the river, no phased starts as we were promised.

Plus points:

* fun to run as a nun .... fellow 'sisters' enjoying the banter and the 'extra' effort some of us put in ... yeah I was one of the 2 in blonde wig and fishnets!

* the choir at the start kept the spirit up, despite the poor weather!

I think the organisers need to look at numbers of runners and whether the route really is suitable for the numbers ....

In short: Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink .....
In full: This was an amazingly well organised run, marshalls and the Bank-holiday tourists cheered us along all the way. Best marshalled run I have seen in a very long time.

3 crticisms:
1 - Water at strange intervals 1m, 4m,6m & 9m .... left big gaps when you needed it most, even more frustrating when you have all that sea-water around you! I've seen more water stations on most 10km runs!
2 - no chip timing - entrance fees were not disimilar to other runs, it always nice to have your chip time as opposed to a start gun-finish time
3 - only water given at the end, come on guys, everyone else gives energy drinks or bananas as a minimum!

In short: A good pre-marathon run
In full: A good run, very challenging for a first time marathon entrant with the steep Stede Hill at 3 miles in. The lack of runners made it very solitary at points, which meant presonal motivation had to drive you home. Some of the footpath on the side of the A20 very muddy, if the Local Authorities cleared this a bit, would be a fantastic run.
Marshalls a bit absent in places, but the refreshments were great, water, bananas, jaffa cakes & hot-cross buns at the finish.
Photographer seemed to miss a lot of runners on Stede Hill and then was absent at the finish line for the slower runners to attend the prizegiving.

In short: Glad I had registered well in advance, the queues for those collecting race numbers on the day was demotivating and led to the run starting late. Overall a fun morning in pleasant surroundings!
