In short: Exactly what a fun local race should be In full: I love the EG 10k. Simple, well organised and friendly. The course isn't flat but it's not exactly hilly, and it makes up for it by being traffic free, good surfaces fro running, and sheltered from the elements. The organisation is top notch, you get a lovely t-shirt, and there is great cake at the end. Perfect Date of review: September 29, 2016
In short: The definition of a fun, local 10k In full: Really enjoyed this race. I was in town for the weekend, and decided pretty late to run it. It's perrfcetly organised. Not only that it's organised and run by a lovely bunch of people. Loads of marshalls, good cake at the end, and a nice t-shirt. Definitely possible to nail a fast one too... I think I'll be back next year to try. Date of review: September 23, 2013
In short: Great little local half In full: This is a perfect distance for me to run a 20miler with a 13.1 blast in the middle, so I wasn't expecting more than a fast training run, but the race was great. Track start/finish, excellent, cheery marshalls, nice rolling hills to test yourself, and a smattering of fun local support (thanks go to the chap calling out the places as we can round the loop both times!). I'd happily pay a tenner to make all my training runs this nice. Good spread of pace too. Well done all involved. Date of review: February 28, 2011
In short: Fabulous Fun In full: OK, it helps having a major sponsor on board, but for me this is what it's all about. A low cost race, perfectly organised, on an interesting course. Silverstone isn't the most picturesque place, but if you love your F1 it's magic.
The course is undulating rather than hilly, but it's very exposed, so expect a hefty wind (both tail and head!)
All in all, a great day out Date of review: March 15, 2010
