In short: Fantastic end to the year
In full: It's great to end your running year on a high note, and this race was definitely special. Even the pouring cold rain stopped just before the start, so we ran in beautiful winter sunshine. The scenery was great, the on-road sections were traffic-free, and the mud was magnificent! If you enjoy squelching through ploughed fields, this is as good as it gets.
The organization was also brilliant - well signposted, plenty marshals, a personalised medal and mulled wine and mince pie to finish. Well done to the My Sporting Times team.

In short: Something for everyone
In full: A brilliant race through lovely countryside. I was tempted to do the 50k but settled for 30k, thank goodness - it was hilly and hot! But the organization was great, friendly marshals, nicely varied tracks (the narrow path through bramble briars around 25k had to be someone's idea of a joke!) and the run-in past the cathedral was a fantastic way to finish. I'll try to work the 50k into my schedule next year.

In short: Favourite race this year
In full: Absolutely brilliant - so well organized! Many "unofficial" drinks stations on this hot day, plus sports drinks, jelly babies, fresh orange slices. And cakes and beer at the end! Unbeatable.

In short: Friendly, flat and fast
In full: Friendliest race I've run for a while, thanks to stewards (and Mablethorpe folks) for fantastic support on a ridiculously hot day. Brilliant to have loads of bottled water available, every marshal seemed to have some up their sleeve! As a bonus I scored a PB on the flat, fast course.

In short: Best race this year
In full: Hills and valleys, canals and rivers, forests and meadows, bullocks and llamas - this race had the lot! Fantastic scenery, friendly marshals every few hundred yards, lovely refreshment stations - what's not to like? Oh yes, running uphill in sand for a mile - but I even loved that bit. Big thanks to the organizers, can't wait for next year's race.

In short: Fantastic trail marathon
In full: Brilliant organization, from staggered start to delicious brunch at the end, via plentiful and well-stocked water (and munchie) stations. Views were glorious, trail was challenging but not bonkers, and at mile 8 the sun came out ! Thanks to everyone who made this event a brilliant success.

In short: Best way to start the year !
In full: Absolutely great - proves that a race can be tough and fun at the same time. Great organization, friendly crowd with lots of kids goggling at the grownups in daft costumes, super mementoes and the hot soup and roll at the end was a lifesaver. Thanks to Dr. Rob and team for a fantastic start to the year.

In short: Brilliant organisation, great course, lots of support
In full: Best organisation of any race I've run so far - everything ran without a glitch. Scenic undulating course on very quiet country roads, my favourite. Fantastic marshalling, lots of drink stations, and enthusiastic supporters even in the remoter sections of the course. Top event!
