In short: Fast
In full: Well organised, the scenery was lovely ( particularly on my bike the afternoon beforehand- when i could cycle without having to stand up as hills gentle) - small bottles at water stations....and despite 3degreesC east wind there was a local ice cream van at the end...yum.
Unforgettable as i broke my pb's for 6m/10k/10ml and indeed half! (well if you don't count the times from 1986)

In short: Scenic, above the fal river; multiterrain but none of the severe stuff.
In full: I ran winter2008,spring2009,summer2009. I am local. Scenery overlooking the Fal estuary and running along trail beside the river. (The winter 2009 race omits the hill that a lot of people walked up). A mix of abilities- not many of the local 'fast' runners on the Cornish grand prix circuit.

In short: Long fast downhill- slow steep uphill
In full: Having worked on strength for a couple of months I saw this as an opportunity for speed work, long downhill, long steep return to the summit. Psychologically it's 2 miles down & 1 mile up for me! Two laps means you know what to look forward to second time round. Lots of marshalls encouraging us...this could be a regular annual event for me; to assess progress- I must add that my 77yr old dad lives 200m from start and we used the event as an opportunity for family gettogether...so I got double rosy glow, of family there to watch finish.
