In short: Manchester deserves better
In full: Good Points: Brilliant support and marshalls - I walked from 18/19 miles due to horrendous cramp. The local support and the marshalls were fantastic and kept me going. I was proud to be a northener.

Bad Points: Race organisation. Sure the organisers cannot book the weather but they can use common sense. Not enough marshalls or 1st aid on the course - especially mid way between 13 and 20. Due to injury I came in after 5 hours freezing and I had to grab a tatty used space blanket that offered no comfort. I know i wasn't the only one like this (and there were probably people much worse than me). I was only glad I didn't have to suffer the baggage debacle.

The race village was a bog and offered little facility to the runners.

For my 1st marathon I was disappointed with the lack of organisation and common sense. I won't run another Extra Mile event after this mess.

Manchester deserves a well organised sponsored marathon around the STREETS of Manchester if it is ever going to offer an good alternative to London.

In short: Better race this year with some sneaky inclines!
In full: A much improved race with some sneaky inclines.

Unfortunately you are never going to please everyone - sure there was no park and running along and back some of the road wasn't ideal but there was plenty of space for runners.

If you had problems at the start you need to get down earlier - its always like that at the big races I find (although better signage to get to the start would have helped).

Overall I really enjoyed it - a few mins outside my PB but that's down to a recent injury. There is plenty of potential for a PB if you train well. Thanks to the organisers and supporters - I'll be back next year!

In short: Well organised, very friendly and great atmosphere for an Inaugrial run - I'l be back :-)
In full: Well done to the organisers of this run for making this event special. Lots of support and good humour on the day - i really enjoyed it despite the hill! Fantastic scenery for this run makes it very special. Managed to get round in under 2hrs (thanks to Lee from Port Talbot for helping me round!)so well chuffed. All in all a really enjoyable run and a medal at the end was a nice touch. Looking foward to next years run :-)

In short: Good run but improvements to be made - I'll be back next year :-)
In full: I enjoyed it - good run around Cardiff, more support than I expected (thanks to all).

Well done to the organisers for making a big decision to change the route. It's too easy to criticise such decisions!

There are improvements to be made - please colour code the start next year!

In short: Wet, windy & fun!
In full: Wow - could have done with flippers for this race! My first undulating race, rain and wind meant that my time wasn't quite what I'd wished for but I was pleased all the same.
A BIG BIG thank you to the race organisers and the marshalls who were fantastic. I will be back next year!
