In short: wet; cold; windy; wet and great fun, oh and wet!
In full: There was a wonderful feel of collective stupidity and camaradery as we huddled under the wall waiting for the start, the first mile was down hill and made it far to easy to run far to fast, a mistake for which I paid dearly by mile 8. The wet and wind did make the course challenging, and although there were some very taxing up hill bits (see comments about the first mile!) the downhills were a welcome relief. The organisation of this event was really smooth and the marshalls excellent, managing to support, encourage and smile even though they were all soaking wet, and the ladies in the cafe, all I can say is never has a bowl of vegeatable soup been so welcome or tatsed so good. 24 hours after the event I think that I might be back again next year

In short: Every boys dream, lots of mud and a great big puddle to splash in
In full: A slightly different course to last year and definately not as wet! but well worth it. The course was a mix of park land, and woods with a Muddy pool, euphamisticaly called a "water Feature" right at the end of the race. Last year this is where my adiction to running races started and one year on I was first in my category, so Mad Jacks Five is one of my all time favourits and with a bit of luck I'll be back next year

In short: good race, felt like a real challenge, and harder than it looked on paper
In full: A strange way to spend a sunday morning when you're supposed to be on holiday in suffolk, but this race was worth missing the lie in for, although heading out of town for the second time it didn't feel like it! the organisation was excellent and the local support very welcome. I'm sure that if I am in suffolk again next year I'll try it again

In short: a real challenge, but well worth the effort
In full: For me this was a really good race, Ludlow runners produced a really well organised event with plenty of marshalls and water stations. The scenary was very nice and the course pretty much traffic free, the very steep bank at 3 miles was definately one to sort the men and women from the boys and girls! but inspite of that I will be aiming to be back next year.

In short: Nice friendly, well organised race
In full: Good little race this, only 100 or so entered, but a good mix of levels and really well organised. The course was a bit of a sneaky one, lots of down hill to start with to get up speed, plenty of uphill on the way back to loose it again! still I think plenty of potential to do a PB.

In short: good run through nice scenary, worth doing
In full: An enjoyable run, the crowds in Newport were great and definitely boost the confidence. A new PB for me means that I'll be back next year. Just one thing, for a mid day run, a week off longest day, perhaps a third water station might be an idea?
