In short: Best 10K going In full: I've been doing the MD 10K since 2008 (except for an enforced 2 year hiatus). It just goes from strength to strength. The tireless work of the organisers cannot be faulted. Having done other events run by professional companies that can't start on time or get the parking right locally I look forward to MD10K and I know the day will run without hitch. The best bit about MD10K is the enthusiasm of the locals. The amount of support around the course is immense & the people of Market Drayton should be proud. Never had a bad race, course is always enjoyable and very well marshalled. Competitors & crowd are always friendly. Due to the heat this year a few people flaked out & the response from the crowd, first aid/St Johns was brilliant. Thoroughly recommended & thankfully got in for next year before it sold out (within 24 hours). Says it all really. Date of review: May 13, 2016
In short: Well organised, scenic race In full: Lovely route, challenging betweeen 9-10 miles, excellent organisation (on the day), very well marked out and marshalled, fair number of water stops (cups=not good, small bottles would be way better).
Let down by lack of race pack in advance (they didn't put my house number on the envelope, doh). Also whilst the vast majority of runners were courteous, on the route there appeared to be a number who lacked any awareness or manners. I was spat on, my foot was kicked and people just kept stopping dead without checking who was behind them. Before you ask, I'm not an aggressive runner and give plenty of space!
But all in all an excellent event which I'll be back for next year Date of review: March 21, 2010
In short: My first ever 10k and was just seeing if I could get round and do it. Given the multi terrain aspect I'm chuffed I did (and wasn't last). Will be back next year for definate. Date of review: July 14, 2009
