In short: Fast but repetitive In full: Nice way to blow away the cobwebs, but four laps make for a fairly unremarkable race. Potentially fast although lapping slower runners on a narrow path next to a lake can make for some extra challenges.

In short: Tough climbs, fantastic atmosphere and support, and lovely cakes In full: I can't think of a race with a better atmosphere or more supportive marshals! Lovely scenery makes up for the more difficult sections, and the bargain cakes (a doorstop of chocolate cake for 50p!) at the end make it all worthwhile. Date of review: October 18, 2009
In short: Flat course, but nowhere to hide from the sun! In full: A well-organised race that cuts through Thame town centre and is almost entirely on tarmac. There's probably really good PB potential, but on a hot midsummer day there's next to no shade...
Could have done with a few more water stations (only one halfway through), but that wouldn't have been an issue if it hadn't been so hot! The Lucozade in the goody bag at the end felt like a lifesaver.
Fingers crossed for a cooler run next year. Date of review: June 28, 2009
In short: Scenic, hilly and thankfully dry (barring the odd puddle) In full: Mostly off-road with some ups and downs, the race was quicker than I had expected. The chip timing was a bonus -- results were printed and pinned to a board on the common -- although you needed to allow time to pick up the chip as it wasn't included in the postal pack.
Good atmosphere, great scenery and I think I'll be back next year... Date of review: June 7, 2009
