In short: Fantastic Race, Fantastic Marshalls...interesting Goody Bag ;)
In full: My first time running this race and I have to say that everything you've heard about it is true! The marshals are extraordinary. They really lift your mood.

The hills exist! But if you keep at them, you'll beat them in the end. The hill at mile 5 just seemed to go on for ever. I seemed to reach the summit then was faced with a sheer incline!

It wasn't that bad really. Second hill was nothing to write home about.

I had a great time. The goody bag was fantastic and I'm well impressed with the technical t-shirt each finisher received. We also got as many jaffa cakes, penguins and bananas we could stuff in our mouths.

Cheers for a fab race.

In short: Great atmosphere and a beautiful route.
In full: This was my first half marathon and I will definitely to it again. Might even sign up for the full next year. It really is a festival of running. The start/finish has an excellent atmosphere. Baggage check was really quick and efficient. The help desk was great (my number didn't arrive and I had to collect), water and lucozade were plentiful on the way round. The medal was cool (square and an unusual design). When I headed to the finish, the roar from the stands was awesome. Sounded like it was just for me!

Only downside is that there was no t-shirt in the goody bag. You had to pay extra. With the entry at £27, I think they could have pushed to a t-shirt.

In short: Not the best organisation but I got my PB!
In full: Awfully crowded at the start, could have done with the water sooner (came at 6.5k) and poor goodie bag but it's a local race for me, I got a PB, and overall was enjoyable. I'll be back.
