In short: For the second year running, major problems. In full: Last year I quite enjoyed the race even though it was hot and they had run out of drinks at many of the stations during the second half of the race. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it appears that many of their reserves where stolen overnight, but the organisation at the end was excellent and we were back in the city centre in under an hour of finishing. However, this year they thought that it would be a good idea to make everybody walk a mile to the baggage trucks, which included a massive bottleneck to get through a tiny gate, followed by another massive walk to get to the shuttle buses. All this appeared to be in hope of gettng you to spend some money in the "charity village", which was just a few stalls selling rubbish food to the over hungry. All this and the course is only moderatly interesting anyway, with some dangerous bottlenecks where people were nearly tripping over each other. It looks like the race has just got too big too quickly. Date of review: May 24, 2010

In short: hot!!!! In full: I've read alot about the lack of water, I never experienced this and found all the drinks stations well stocked although because of the heat more drinks stations would have been welcome towards the end. Support good along the way and the shuttle buses back to Edingburgh were excellent with the police stopping traffic to let them through. Date of review: June 2, 2009
