In short: To many races starting at once. In full: Last years MK half was my first ever half marathon and, having done several since, I have never bettered the time so I had high hopes of a PB on this one.
I was interested in how this years would be run as it was starting from a different area. When I got there it seemed very unorganised and many runners entered in to different length races, all in the same area wandering around trying to work out what was going on. Luckily I my starting position was near a PA speaker so I could hear what was going on but can understand people complaining about not being able to hear it as it had just been a distant drone until I climbed into the starting pen.
The 10k runners started before the half marathon that meant once we started we caught up with a large majority of the 10k runners and that created a bit of a bottle neck.
Having said that I did get my PB and will be entering again next year. Date of review: March 7, 2010
In short: Very good race In full: Enjoyed this one, although it did seem a bit busy at the beginning. Nice undulating route was reasonably challenging and the organisation was spot on. Only complaint, a medal would've been nice, can't hang up a T-Shirt! But I will be back next year. Date of review: February 7, 2010
In short: Great race. Although very cold the warmth of the organisers and my fellow runners warmed me up. In full: Great stuff, well organised by very nice people. I'll be back for the 17 mile next month. Date of review: January 31, 2010
