In short: "we love to make a profit" race. Appaling organisation In full: Waited over 45 mins outside in queue to collect bag. If the weather had been bad this would have been a night mare. A sachet of sugar as a gift! WTF. The "hight quality rucksacks" have snapped at the zip already after one use. Many People didn't do the full 2 track laps as it was not explained. Signage was rubbish, attitude of those on the doors was incredibly poor, treating people like children Date of review: July 18, 2013
In short: Flat, well organised, pb potential. In full: A good race, if you hit the headwind on the esplanade you really feel it for a couple of miles though (but thats just how it is). It was Well supported and had easily accessible parking. A whole gang of us did it and everyone really enjoyed it. Date of review: August 27, 2012
In short: Bloody tough! In full: Wet weather just before gun went off made for a chilly start. I thought the organisers may have reduced the steepness of the hills, but alas no. Beyond their control apparently! Masssive range of abilities which always makes for a good race. Nice atmosphere in general. The hill at 4 miles completely saps you, but after that it's mainly flat or down.
In short: Very tough hills up to 4 miles In full: First few miles much too slippy. Great day out to overcome the cancellation of langdale! Friendly runners, good occasion. Date of review: December 13, 2010
In short: Sooo tough, had to queue for water at end In full: tough hills at beginning are compensated by lovely scenery on the flat, downhill.....but then you hit the coffin trail where everybody apart from the clinically insane walk. The mint cake at the stations was in short supply and the water station at the end was not properly prepared for the mass of finishers around the 1 hour 40 mark. Beautiful weather really helped! In short: Calling out times at 1 mile and 8 K was a great idea In full: Times being shouted out at various marker points was a fantastic idea!. Great weather always makes a race feel better. Flat course meant a lot of my friends got PBs. The Screen with the results on at the end really introduced high tech to running. Another inspired idea!. Geat organisation, well done., they were under-marshalled as well, so most volunteers did 2 jobs! Date of review: September 15, 2009
