In short: Tough run but friendly with family atmosphere.
In full: Locally focused and friendly run. Organisation capable and no problem with registering on the day. Smallish field and a good hard run. Some issues with cow trodden fields giving potential twists but apart from that very enjoyable. Good warm up and nice village fete atmosphere with excellent tea and sausage sandwich afterwards.

In short: Great way to finish the bank holiday
In full: Like this race as its very close to home and at a great time, 7pm. Its one of my training runs so does seem odd to pay £12 to run it but I don't begrudge it as it helps the local club. Tough first half, slow uphill for a couple of miles then a 'respectable' hill before mostly being downhill. Good fun and slightly amateur atmosphere adds to the relaxed feeling. WIll continue to do it as long as I can.

In short: Much better organisation and route this year.
In full: Could do with more loos en-route but everything else a massive improvement on last year. Good run for beginners and extremely friendly.

In short: Good honest race let down by shabby start.
In full: Race start needs review as gathering outside Waitrose in St Albans wasn't the most suitable and the start running along a narrow path next to a busy road with everyone bunched up also needs looking at. After that fine, good course, a few little ups and downs and very friendly. Yes I'd go again.

In short: Tough n muddy but good fun.
In full: First time run and seemed well organised. Course pretty tough, ended up walking on both big hills which I don't normally do. Last hill a killer but a good old fashioned cross-country run. Excellent post race cake/rolls/drinks available. Worth supporting.

In short: Tough, good scenery but I thought expensive for a basic 10K
In full: Good tough run, glad it started at 9:30ish as soon got warm. Friendly and fun, my only real gripe was the cost. £18 for an on the day non-affiliated runner is very steep. The goody bag was basic and no chip timing. I know its for charity but so are many 10Ks. I'd like to see people encouraged to have a go at events but understand how forking out £18 might just put the undecided off. Shame really but my 2 pennies worth.

In short: Well organised pleasant run that need's support
In full: Good little race, homely and welcoming feel and not a bad course, tough out but not too bad back and definitely has PB potential. Chip timing nice but not essential and wonder if cost (£15 for a non-club runner on the day) puts folks off as not as many runners as last year. May have to consider price of entry but definitely worth running and they need runners support to keep it going I'd guess. Enjoyed it.

In short: Needs a real rethink due to popularity
In full: Shame, last year was great. Good weather, well organised and fun. This year completely opposite. I think this race is a victim of its own success and the organisers will either have to cut the numbers or radically rethink the race.
I'd suggest move the start as it's too cramped on Maderia Drive and causes problems as documented by others. Also dont run through the streets at the start, have this at the end when runners are more spaced out. The sea front offers plenty of room and this should be the first 5 miles at least. Then, a personal plea, remove the switchback at the end, its soooo demoralising. Hope this improves as loved 09.

In short: Friendly, well organised and tough enough.
In full: Army organised to pretty sharp, friendly and fun to do. Been 4 times now and like it very much. Tough-ish track with one big climb and a few sharp ones, not great for best times especially when muddy but well worth a go.
