In short: A gorgeous single loop road run through a lovely area In full: I'm not a fan of road running but this one I will always turn up for. Its a lovely route in a lovley place. Great Atmosphere and goody bag and ample parking. A fast course but you will have to dig deep to keep on pace at the various slight uphills.
In short: Lovely trail run with mild ups and downs In full: Third time I have done this race and love it more each time. The course is nicely marked out and marshals were placed in best locations. A very nice touch this year was feedback from the substation marshals of who was coming through to the finish area giving the commentator time to find your name and encourage the crowd to shout you through to finish. Loved that. Date of review: June 12, 2013
In short: An annual must In full: I try and run this every year. A great route and a really nice place to start and finish with plenty for family to keep themselves occupied while waiting. The course is fantastic for all runners at all levels. The immediate race chip timing results on display is always a great touch. Date of review: May 31, 2013
In short: Great route and runners. Let down by hosts organisation In full: A great run route. A really good challenge especially in the heat but enough woodlands and shade to keep you going. No water stop was a bit punishing. Didnt seem like the place could have handled any more than the 300 or so runners that took part partly due to parking and partly due to the size of concrete playground all were restricted to (was very congested so not fun for the kids). A big issue was some kind of route mix up at about 5 miles. Date of review: September 10, 2012
In short: Lovely area and multi terrain route with PB potential In full: A great race for 1st time 10K runners with enough onsite to keep family entertained whilst you run. A lovely route very close to the historical town of Wallingford. The multi terrain, picturesque race route has no problems and no hills. Any single file areas pose no problems so long as you positioned yourself in the correct line up for your race time. The disposable timing chip/bands worked a treat and the self access to the race times database onsite was a nice touch. Date of review: June 6, 2011
In short: A great run if you're a 1st timer for a half or looking for a PB. In full: Loved this run. Bag handling was amazing. No queues for toilets. No big queues for drinks or food. Space to get changed was a little bit of a hindrance but no big deal. Start lines were a bit chaotic. No easy access to predicted start time area unless you arrived very early. Required one to jump fence to get in the correct area. You need to be at the front of your predicted start time area in order to get a PB and not get delayed by the many many ppl clearly in the wrong start zones. Finishing in the Madejski football stadium was a great touch. Date of review: March 23, 2011
In short: A nice run that puts your training to the test In full: A rural road run with plenty of space after the somewhat compressed start and no bottlenecks. A good mix of downhill - uphill. You will need to have done some hill work prior to this run as this 1 lap course will test your training. Date of review: January 9, 2011
In short: Undulating but allows for quick start and finish In full: Course starts level and you will find yourslef on smooth declines and then smooth inclines. Although on road you wouldnt really notice any traffic. Date of review: July 5, 2010
