In short: One of the nicest routes - if not the best route - for a HM
In full: Second time that I did this HM - loved again every minute of it - even knocked off 2 minutes of my time from last year!
Just love the running in the meadows of the Thames Valley and the view. Pity the weather wasn't as nice as last year - but still this is probably the nicest HM that I have run - apart from maybe one that I ran abroad in Austria!
Well done Purple Patch - superbe organisation as usual - and the marshalls were all really supportive and cheery!

In short: Definitely will be back again next year ...
In full: My second time running this event and I loved it, even the hills,(which I tackled with a new strategy this time, which paid off)as I managed a nearly 10 minutes speed improvment on my time from last year and brought me in under the 2 hour mark ...
Weather was perfect for me and overall there was a good atmosphere apart from some elbow action of some club runners at the beginning of the race.

Marshalls were plenty and very supportive and as I remembered the route from last year it was much easier to plan for climbs and descents and made it really fun.
Hill training in the run up to this event is definitely advisable and was worth integrating into my training schedule ...

Still no medal at the end - but hopefully that will change for next year ;)

In short: Glorious Scenery with Killer hills
In full: ... loved the weather and the cold crisp air - this was my 6th HM of the year and was thought to be a final crowning challenging one - and I got exactly what I was looking for - repeated and challenging hills and a constant incline either up or down .... wow - I am no aching where I have not ached before on my legs .... but loved it ...

The water station at the10 mile marker was struggling to have water out for the runners - but guess that is because I was "late" - but overall the organisation was great and the marshalls and the public were very encouraging!

Great race!

In short: Great scenery and challenging patches
In full: Loved every minute of it - beat my PB by 6 mins which was unexpected but route enabled me to run steadily at the aimed for pace :).

Great organisation also and nice atmosphere after the race at the Marlow Rugby grounds - cheering crowd was also uplifting.

Definitely a "do again" race.

In short: Fabulous run - 124 very enjoyable minutes
In full: This is the best HM that I have run (out of 4) - loved it, loved it loved it with the added bonus that I came in just some seconds below my previous PB too ! :) not the sub 2-hour break that I had planned and hoped for - but the most enjoyable race I have ever run!

Will definitely be back next year!

Great Marshals, great atmosphere and the drumming was also very nice to cheer on and remind you of the background of this race!

Compliments to the organisers!

In short: Well organised - very hilly challenging route
In full: Overall good race - but much more hilly (steep hilly) than I expected - no PB for me - just missed it by around 2 minutes which I contribute to the last couple of hills that I did not really manage to run up anymore :o( ... Lots of Marshalls guiding you and good organised water stations!

As this is only my 3rd Half since i started running I am planning to run this again next year to see how I measure up after more experience!

Overall enjoyed the race - but am very achey now !

A Medal definitely would have been good - was quiet disappointed to only get a T-shirt and a kitkat !

In short: Great route but slippery and muddy adding new challenge
In full: This was my second HM this year and compared to the road race this one was definitely harder - I did not achieve to beat my time from the last time - but I contribute this to the up hill finish as well as the muddy route which made it difficult to have a grip from time to time .... I have run parts of this route in summer and it is definitely "easier" without the mud ....

Loved the relaxed atmosphere and am planning to run it again next year just to see if I can beat my time from this year!
