In short: Good but could be better
In full: This is my first experience of the Greant North run and to be honest i was expecting better. The atmosphere did not quite compare to a number of other big races that i had done and also the quality of post race mementos were dissapointing given the price. However no issues with getting stuck behind runners etc as i was in the section just behind the elite club runners. In addtion the race was very well organised.

In short: Cracking route (very tough!!!) - bad organisation
In full: My 2nd run in Bradford and i was pleasantly surprised at the scenary! It was soon out of the building site (city centre) and out into the countryside. The hills were brutal and should not have been decribed as flat/undulating. The finish in the park was great however I cut off the corner as i followed a couple of guys infront and we all went the wrong way. No way I was turning round though as it was totally unclear and only saved a few seconds. Poor goody bag but then you cant have everything. Will be back in 2011!

In short: 3rd time for me and let down by a couple of issues
In full: This is the 3rd time i have done this great race and have got faster every year. Did particularly well today knocking 5 mins off my time from Sheffield just 2 weeks ago. Once you have done the course a few times and know where those hills are as long as you save some energy in the bag for 7 miles on it is pretty much all down hill and flat. The course is well marshalled and has good water stations. As other people have put the course does get a bit narrow in parts running along side main raods. Also this year there was a lack of drinks at the finish and I had issues with my timing chip which is why i have not rated it as high as previous years.

In short: Cracking race
In full: The race start was very well organised with picking up off numbers from the local community centre. The start line was a few mins walk away and clearly signed. The guy at the start with the microphone was doing a great job!

The race starts with a good opening mile down hill not what i like as i know it will only mean finishing back up!

The first half is quite towny with a very steep downhill after 5 miles. Then the fun begins with a few big hills. Race mainly on roads or concrete footpaths more main roads than i was expecting and not really any off road sections. More up and downs to finish.

Overall a very well organised and friendly local race. (Not sure if there is any better routes tho to avoid some of those main roads!)

In short: Prettg good for my first marathon!!
In full: This was my first marathon and my first time in Leicester! Good place to start in the park. Was it just me or was there no pre race warm up? This might be something for next year! Good clear starting points to make sure you get in the right pen. Regular marshalls and water stations helped all the way round the course. Only slight problem was coming into the city i was running on my own and i nearly went wrong a couple of times this could possibly be a little clearer with more signs etc but other that that a good race and a good medal! Ecstatic to cross the line!

In short: Good little scenic rural race!
In full: Enjoyed this race around a figure of 8 course which passed through a couple of picturesque villages!

Very very flat so ideal for a PB! A drink other than water would have been nice at the end, some OJ maybe?

Massage available at the end which was excellant!

In short: Very good mass participation race!
In full: Achieved a pb of 50.38 despite it being a tough course. started near the front so didnt have too many slowbies to pass. those really slow ones should not be starting at the front and they should have expected times up so people know where to start. good distance markers and water stations (very big dont know how some people missed them) defo do this again next year
