In short: bob and weave!!
In full: My watch says 10.3k and I can understand it with the amount of sideways dodging at the start. There were pens of sorts last year which as an average runner meant no walkers in front. I bettered last year by a minute but wonder how much faster if I started running from the start (2 mins behind target at 1st k was a bad start!!) This event must attract more beginners than any other in Yorks and I find that utterly inspiring, indeed 2 work collegues ran 10k here for the 1st time in around an hour any it was so good to get to watch them come in and cheer them home and thanks to Jane's legacy there are 2 more in the world with the running bug. That said there is nothing worse than watching an overweight middle aged man trying to impress his young female work collegues by havin all the gear and bragging at the start how easy 10k is only to see him sprint off then start barfing at 2k!! Did any one see if he finished? I just hope he gave loads of money to charity for his 'efforts' as that is what this wonderful and wonderfully fustrating race is really all about

In short: where's the online times!
In full: my 1st half and the first time I've done the distance so its a special one for me as I was also in pink running and fundraising for my neice to have an op in USA.shameless plug-annabellerosetrust.org miles 7-9 flew after the hills but was I the only one aching at the uphill final 'point one of a mile' . Still Annabelle and my own wife and daughter made for an unforgettable emotional finish that will prob not be repeated

In short: got me back into running
In full: The last 10k I did was 1985 and boy have things moved on!Timing chips for your feet etc and 11000 runners!Great way to get back into running I seem to be the only person on the site whod didn't get stuck behind walkers!Got a green number stood where I was supposed to, hugged a runner and off I went!Mind you at 2 k (yes there was a marker there) we looped round and still saw people setting off! It was incredilble seeing the elite runners coming back down Meanwood road as we were running up and I couldnt help spending 2k running and clapping these super athletes as they sped past! Then of course we all know now that gatorade is best served in squeezy bottles!! The noise on reaching the city centre was fantastic and I raised a shed load of money for the charity I was running for so a 100% top time!!
