In short: Great people, great course, great organisation! In full: No complaints. Unfortunate to be cancelled twice this year, affecting the attendence - a few no shows (sells out every year - so i'm told). Slightly different course to what i've seen... i'm new to running - small paths, in a park with a bit of woodland thrown in. Not a criticism just a point, paths narrow in places, so difficult to pass and got held back in places. In general course very flat and fast. Happy with the price £6(unatt), £8 (att). In short: Good race - well worth the trip! In full: Good day out - minor points, clutching at straws really.
water: 1st station at 4.5 miles was a bit far out for my liking, however was aware of this at the start.
parking: I came from the south and so parking up at the M56 services worked ok for me (very short bus trip to the start and regular service), however... many people weren't that bothered with this and parked up at the sports centre HQ and surrounding roads in some cases (i'd say a lot less than 50% parked at the services). There was more parking available than understood and I always find having my car handy near the start for storing valauables and other essentials advantageous. I will be stashing my car at the start next year. Date of review: January 19, 2010
In short: Well organised event on a good but challenging course. In full: A well organised event. Echo previous comments in that the hills were not as bad as I envisaged from the literature, main killer for me was the uphill run-in to the finish. Overall a good course but tough to get a PB. Not that many people about, possibly due to a smaller half in the midst of winter and just before chrimbo however marshalls were very good, supportive and encouraging. Definitely worth a visit and for me a return visit. Date of review: December 13, 2009
