In short: Windy!! In full: The Scenery along the beach was fantastic as was the first 5k. Between 5k and 9k however the headwind was obscene, so bad in fact that my km pace was slowed by up a minute -I'm not sure if the headwind would have been less if the race was hosted during mid-summer?.
The 7km marker was almost 750m too late and there was no goody bag or T-Shirt at the end - just a plastic bottle.

2010 Leeds 10K - Jane Tomlinson's "Run For All"
 | | Overall score | | 60% | | Would you do it again? | | Maybe | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 60% | | PB potential | | 60% | | Atmosphere | | 80% | | Organisation | | 40% | | Value | | 40% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Nice race - shame about the crowds In full: Just to echo what many people have said already.... 1 - There was no segregation between fast and slow runners. It took me over a minute to cross the start line and due to congestion I was already 1 Minute down my usual pace at the 1km point. Why people feel the need to queue up 40 minutes in adavance of the start I have no idea. There were green and red runners but they both started together - craziness!
2 - There were wheelchair entrants but there were parts of the course which were too narrow for both wheelchairs and runners - either find a wider road or let the wheelchairs set off 20 minutes or so in advance.
Other than that a nice, fairly flat run... will these issues be sorted for 2011 ? most likely not as the same comments have been made in previous years Date of review: July 6, 2010

2010 BUPA Great Edinburgh Run

In short: Mind the hill In full: Before you start the event the BUPA website warns you that you can expect an extra 2 minutes to be added to your usual PB and they are not kidding. I'm a regular club runner and found this hellish - lots of hills and sharp descent i thought id left cross country season behind! I guess this is just the landscape of the city.
Other points of note - A water "station" which consisted of 2 guys handing out bottles which i missed on the wrong side of the road - No 800m and 400m count-down markers as with the Yorkshire and Sunderland 10k's (I didnt see them) - Another generic, ugly looking, Grey Marl, BUPA T-shirt in the goodie bag - the same type as at all their event last year only with a different logo. At least the baggage area was well guarded Date of review: May 3, 2010

In short: Great support in the stadium and spectators en route. In full: Only minuses would be poor water stations and no goody bag - only a T-Shirt Date of review: April 12, 2010
