In short: Lovely scenic race.
In full: Super race with great views all the way around the lake and not as hilly as you'd expect for a Lake district race.My only small critisism would be the traffic on the course,I can fully appreciate that it's costly to have roads closed but the final run into the villiage was a tad tricky and I had to swiftly dodge around a car just before i made the final turn to a sprint finish.Apart from that little gripe the organisation was good, the marshalls friendly and helpful and a great all round atmosphere, would definitely run this one again.

In short: Totally awesome experience
In full: What an amazing experience for my first ever marathon.Loved every moment of it,the only tiny criticism would be that on the day the weather was just way too hot for endurance running but nobody can control the british weather.

The whole operation is run so smoothly and is very well organised. The marshalls did a great job and the people lining the route in their thousands were just superb and lifted me greatly towards the end especially within the last 4 to 5 miles when my energy levels were almost on empty!

Well done london and a great touch too in putting on free transport to the start and back on the day for runners, other big events could learn a lot from this flawless organisation.
The medal is by far the best i've ever seen from a race also plenty of free goodies to be had in bags and at the expo.

In short: Tough but very scenic marathon training run.
In full: Enjoyed this for it's spectacular scenery but didn't enjoy the hills too much, the one at 3 to 4 miles was a real killer ! i was delighted when the downhill and flat parts started to emerge :) managed to get around in 3 hours 15 mins and enjoyed a nice fish and chips tea just down the road from the leisure centre before we left for the 2 1/2 hour journey home.Made full use of the facilities at the centre and the hot shower was very welcome.

In short: A Superb marathon warm up race.
In full: Fabulous training run for London Marathon.Really good route and some nice scenery as you run along the river Lune.Big thanks to the really friendly marshalls all around the course and at the water stations and to the locals en route too for their vocal support.Super race and the weather was very generous too, very hard to fault any part of it.The facilities were pretty good too and no problems with parking.

In short: Good quality half marathon in monsoon conditions !
In full: Absolutely horrendous conditions from start to finish but couldn't dampen my spirits and enthusiasm.
Pretty well organised and marshalled although as a lucky blue car park ticket holder i found that actually getting through to this car park was difficult and confusing with all roads to it blocked, this was soon sorted out though when i waved my ticket through the window to the police officers who then promptly directed me through.
The bad weather however didn't deter me at all from having a GREAT race and i managed to smash my half marathon PB by a good 4 mins !!! and was also at least 10 mins quicker than my GNR time 2 weeks ago.
BIG thanks to all the organisers, marshalls and hundreds of supporters on-route who had to endure a miserable day to make this event a success.

In short: Fabulous race !!!
In full: Super race, fantastic crowd support and great organisation.
REALLY enjoyed my first ever GNR and even managed to "high-five" Declan Donnelly" at the start which set me up nicely for the run.
The crowds really were fantastic giving lots of encouragement and various goodies out at many spots around the course.
The Red Arrows at South Shields afterwards capped off a really great day out, pity that the downpour came tho.

In short: Superb Trail race with amazing scenery.
In full: Fabulous race and well organised. The hills and bogs made it a real test of stamina but thoroughly enjoyable.
I actually stayed over on the Saturday and Sunday camping with the family nearby and found that this helped enormously with the fact that we walked to the event and didn't need to use any car parks and could also stay and chill and have a beer afterwards while the prizes were being dished out,the location was great with LOADS for the kids to do and the great weather was a big bonus too !!!

In short: tough but scenic hill race
In full: Some very tough hills in this one and was very happy that the distance was 7 miles and not more! the scenery was fantastic though and almost took away the pain of the steeper climbs.Bargain at a fiver though for the entry fee!

In short: very scenic and enjoyable but hard race.
In full: Absolutely stunning scenery almost makes you forget how much pain your in whilst trying to climb the many hills on route.Excellent marshalling and organisation and gave me a massive sense of acheivement when i finally reached the finish line and even managed to put on a little sprint past the greatly appreciated cheering crowds at the funnel/finish.
