In short: Beautiful scenery, slick organisation and wonderful marshalls! And BEER! In full: What a wonderful event! Slick organisation from the off. Plenty of car parking, more loos than you could shake a stick at, and friendly helpful marshalls. The scenery is stunning. Even that hill was worth it! If you only change one thing, stagger the half and full marathon starts. Otherwise PERFECTION! Date of review: June 21, 2016
In short: Another quality race! Just gets better! In full: Brilliant marshalls, excellent signage and a virtually traffic free course. Chip timing, a great goody bag and more cake than you can possibly eat! What more could you ask for!? Some of the bigger events could learn from this one! Date of review: August 31, 2015
In short: Bit short, but a good morning. In full: I think the first 2 reviewers have been very harsh. Mr Burns, if you contact the race director, he will be happy to refund your entry fee...
Yes the course was short, and it was a mistake by the cycle marshall, but dont let it detract from the organisation, the friendly marshalls, more cake than you can shake a stick at and the glorious weather!
This was the first time this race has been done, and it suffered a teething problem. Lessons will have been learnt and it wont happen again. If you are going to judge an entire club on one error, then i think that is very sad. The race director offered a full apology, and the race referee reiterated it. It was a mistake. Get over it.
In short: Bogtastic! In full: About as much fun as you can have in November with your clothes on! Loved every second of it. even breaststroking through the bogs. Absolutely FAB! Date of review: November 16, 2008
In short: A new PB and i beat Buzz Lightyear! In full: What a lovely race. I really enjoyed this, nicely undulating, loads of water and energy drinks, and huge crowds, even on the quieter bits. Was ahead of Buzz lightyear at one point and determined not to let him beat me....and he didnt! (the shame of being beaten by Scooby Doo was enough!) Will Definately do it again! In short: My first half, and an excellent one! In full: I was incredibly nervous before doing this...not only was it my first half but i heard tales of hills......in the warm up area beforehand people were talking about how tough this course was....well, dont believe a word of it. This course is cracking. A few minor undulations, but great views, great supporters, excellent marshalling, and a really lovely day. What a great race experience. I am a very happy bunny! In short: Lovely run, lots of water. both to drink and look at! In full: Had a lovely run today. Thankfully not too hot, so made for very pleasant racing. Organisers had laid on 2000 bottles of water apparently! Three water points, and a nice course along the river. A bit uneven under foot, and a bit of a tight squeeze at some points, but good course. Could maybe have done with a couple more marshalls in the closing stages, they seemed to disappear a bit around 10km, and also when we reentered the town and had to cross the oncoming traffic.. Would do it again! Date of review: July 23, 2006
In short: Had a really lovely run! In full: A hot day, but plenty of shady bits, beautiful scenery, and a field of pigs (literally)! Had a great run, and enjoyed myself very much. Well organised and even had a celeb starter! (that bloke off one of the antique shows...the one with the bow ties..) Date of review: June 11, 2006
