In short: Emotionally charged first time marathon
In full: Key points pretty much as everyone else has said:
no sports drinks (bad)
long walk to the bus (bad)
phallic medal (???)
10am start (could be earlier)

crowd support (fantastic! thanks for the hosepipes)
scenery
brilliant stewards

It was my first marathon and the heat bothered me (but nothing could be done about that apart from perhaps an earlier start). The crowd support was amazing and it was such a boost to hear people calling my name. I really struggled miles 15-20 due to lack of crowds, but again, not much to be done about that! The stewards were fantastic (thanks to the lady who let me sob on her shoulder at the end!)

Will I do it again? Don't know. Will I ever do another marathon? Don't know.

I love Edinburgh and knew that the route wasn't much in Edinburgh, however it does remind me a little of a Ryanair flight...

In short: Brilliant!
In full: My 1st 20 miler in preparation for Edinburgh. Fantastic day, brilliant marshalling, amazing water stations, great hoodie and goody bag. Thank you to all involved.

In short: Hot and very hilly!
In full: Big thank you to the marshalls who were great. A small race but great community spirit and lots of cheering from the locals.

In short: Good
In full: Like many others, i was horrified by people peeing up walls at the beginning. I would probably do this again as I live locally. It was the furthest I've ever run and I thought the organisation was good and the support was good considering how cold and windy it was! Excellent medal, goody bag and t-shirt! Being local, I know there could be a more scenic way to the finish line..... please! It would have motivated me a bit more rather than being abused by the local ASBO crew with their fags and cans of special brew ;-)

In short: Bracing.....
In full: It was my partner's first half and my second. Agree with all the other comments I've read, but parking was free at the football stadium and then only £3 for the bus.... Goody bag might have been an idea for the money and MUCH more organisation at the end.... not a good idea to just come to a sudden stop with the bottle neck at the finish line.
