In short: Hot and hilly, but well worth it! In full: After only discovering the race a few days before I was pleased when I found out I could sign up on the day, this was a smooth, quick process as was all the organization on the day.
The course is tough, it's very hilly, although there are some nice flat bits in between. Mostly trail/offroad other than the first few miles. Stunning views, and fab course.
Marshals and everyone involved in the event are fabulous. Loved the t-shirt, and the beer, and the fruit platter at the end was perfect!
Will be back in the future for sure! Date of review: July 14, 2014
In short: Hot and Hilly In full: Somehow managed to knock a few minutes off my PB on what was a very hot day, and a tough course. Not as flat as advertised, the undulations throughout were extremely draining, and the ones in the last 6 miles pretty much destroyed me. Stadium finish was a nice touch, and marshals and support along the way were great. Disappointed with lack of t-shirt. Date of review: May 6, 2014
In short: Delighted that this was my first ever half! In full: Really pleased that I chose Cardiff as my first half marathon. After suffering from a hideous viral infection all week, I was really chuffed with my time of 2:09:24. Largely flat and fast course. Organisation wasn't great at the start, and miles 8 and 9 along the link road, were truly hideous, having to go back along that same bridge was depressing, and running past asda and morrisons carparks not really inspirational. Other than that, it was a great day, and a great race, can't wait for next year! Date of review: October 16, 2011
In short: Nice and flat course, good for pb's. Not great organisation, lack of toilets and very congested at the beginning. A good turn out for what was a very cold morning! Date of review: March 6, 2011
