In short: Gruelling and very muddy! In full: It may be only 8 miles but it certainly was a gruelling 8 miles. The up hill start certainly gets you going and sorts then men aand woman from the boys and girls. Once your up that first hill i found the rest of the run a delight. It may have been snowing abit and been what felt like -2oc but really enjoyed it, even fighting my way through the knee high mud. It was like being a kid again. No care in the world, just run head long into the mud and try not to fall in or loose your feet. As you may guess there will be no PBs set on this one, you just go for the sheer enjoyment of running through the mud. Great support from all around the course and the best up hill mud slide (1 step forward, 2 slides back)i know. All in all, i can't wait for next years run. Date of review: July 14, 2009
