In short: Fantastic event that keeps you smiling despite the pain of 26.2 miles In full: Only my second marathon but one I'd relly like to do again. We were really lucky with the weather but what topped it all was the excelent organisation and sheer enthusiasm from all the marshals, cadets and volunters. By the time I passed the water point at mile 24 they must have been there for a good 5 hours or so but still had loads of support and encouragement.
The hill at 17.5 miles is a bit of a killer but you get the benefit of an easier last mile to finish.
Exiting the Queensway tunnel is worth the entry fee alone!

In short: Weather made it tough but really enjoyed my first marathon In full: As my first marathon i didnt realy know what to expect. Despite some negative comments from previous years i found the organisation and whole event fantastic.
As i mentioned the weather was very hot but there were ample water statins and the locals with encouragement and hosepipes made what could have been a real nightmare a wonderful day. Date of review: May 30, 2012

In short: Fantastic event and very adictive In full: My first GNR and first half was an amazing experience. My advice would be do it but make sure you put in the training to get the best out of it, the course is tough in places but the crowds and encouragement from spectators and runners gives you the extra lift needed.
I can understand if better runners get frustrated with the crowds and walkers but take it for what it is and you wont be dissapointed.
Its everything you read about and more, deffinately a must at least once. Date of review: September 22, 2010
