In short: Brilliant race...loved it! In full: Although a very poor race for me in regards to time, due to my friend and running mate's illness and our later matching knee injuries(!)I absolutely loved it and wouldn't hesitate to do it again (even though it's expensive). The main plus point was the fantastic support given by the people of Bath all the way round the course - well done them. The organisation was also very good with loads of water/drinks stations, medical points & toilets. Yes the "large" t-shirt was a bit of a disappointment but I'll forgive them...see you next year! In short: I love the Cracker! In full: Love this race in my hometown. It's cold waiting about at the beginning but what a great atomosphere. Excellent value for money with the long sleeved t-shirt, not to mention the mince pie, at the end. Have already started thinking about how to top this year's Kiss outfits! 2011 Cardiff Half Marathon
 | | Overall score | | 60% | | Would you do it again? | | Maybe | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 40% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 60% | | Organisation | | 60% | | Value | | 40% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Disappointing following the previous two years In full: Ran this race in 2009 and 2010 and this year was the least enjoyable yet. Despite a PB (more due to my improvement rather than the course) I would have to think seriously before doing it again. Not being one of the quickest runners, by the time I arrived at the drinks stations, picking your way through the bottle tops was hazardous to say the least and by the time I reached the energy drink station, they had run out! The long miles along the dual carriageway were soul destroying (what was wrong with the meandering trails through the park and city?)and support seriously lacking. The final insult was being given an XL t-shirt, a cheap energy drink & a cereal bar (when all you want is chocolate!). Pull your socks up Cardiff or you will lose runners! 2010 The Better Half
 | | Overall score | | 20% | | Would you do it again? | | No | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 40% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 20% | | Organisation | | 40% | | Value | | 60% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 60% |
In short: Hated it! In full: I'm a relative novice, having completed 2 x 5k, 2 x 10k and 1 x half marathon before, but this was by far the worse and I'm not saying that just because I didn't finish (although that didn't help). The promised chip timing didn't materialise and nor did goody bags, although the t-shirt for taking part was nice. The weather (not the organisers fault) was too hot (I developed breathing difficulties). The course was horrible. Round the track at Castle Coombe & then round the back of the track with a (penalty?) loop around a gravel track x 3 (or x 2 in my case). No scenery - no shade - no interest. Prize giving started with about half a dozen more ladies to finish - how rude! Date of review: April 27, 2010
