In short: Challenging race for a beginner but fun!!
In full: A few hills, muddy spots and variety of scenery make for a very pleasant race.....glad I did the 7km and not the 10 mile!!

In short: Really enjoyed this off-road course
In full: Been running 15 months and done numerous 5 and 10k races and I think this is my favourite so far. Lovely scenery, pretty flat and not too busy so no hold ups on narrow paths. I am sure if it had rained the last week it would have been a very challenging course!!

In short: That is some hill!!
In full: I knew there was a hill half way round but when I turned the corner and saw it, it went on for a bit longer than expected!! First time I have walked on a 10k run!! The bonus was there was a great downhill very fast section.

In short: Enjoyable race
In full: As others have said, couldn't hear speaker at start of race and a couple of spots that you had to walk due to number of people, would have been better if two races were staggered. Marshalls were great and friendly. Prefer a medal to a towel!! Would do again....maybe ready for the 10 mile next year!!

In short: Could have been better but did enjoy it
In full: The start was a bit of a shambles, couldn't hear anything...should have had a tannoy system...no horn to start race so only knew it had started when people started moving.
Never done a race before with no water/squash at the end.....felt it would not take much cost/effort to have plastic cups and squash available at the end.
Enjoyed the course and nice people.

In short: Loved the mud and water!!!
In full: Great location, some very muddy and boggy ground which added to the challenge/fun!! Last half mile seems very long especially nasty ending with a hill!!
Agree that could not hear race instructions as standing near the back. Disappointing not to get a little medal or certificate at the end.

In short: Extremely tough, hills, steps but great views!!
In full: It was my first 5k race since startd running end of last year......would not really recommend for beginners!! Some very steep hilly bits and everyone who ran it agreed that any 5k after this would be a breeze! Still enjoyed it though......good if you like a challenge!!
