In short: The Orme is a great challenge with great scenery but that's about it...... In full: Second time I've done this race, really enjoyed it both times. The start was better organised this year but still needs major improvements, its almost impossible to pass the first couple of miles due to the narrow track. The climb up the Orme isn't that bad, it's just very long and steady. The view from the top is breathtaking (or was it the climb!) and the downhill is very welcome. I thought the hardest part was getting back to Conwy after the Orme, it's long and flat and you can see the castle which is still several miles away, found it a bit tough knowing I'd still gotta haul myself all the way back to it! In short: Ouch! Who put that bloody big hill right at the end?! In full: My local Half Marathon, a real tough cookie! Well organised at the start, fantastic support all the way round, great marshalls and a great finish right in the city centre. The course is a real challenge, lots of hills, seemed like the were all uphill as well! The final hill at Milton Road is an absolute heartbreaker but once that's done its an easy cruise into the city centre for a glorious finish! Date of review: January 29, 2011

In short: One of the best, an example to some of the bigger races.... In full: Great scenery, fantastic marshalls, definate PB potential (I knocked 18 mins off my last half marathon), well organised at the end, love the old ladies at the clubhouse serving free tea and biscuits! If I had a gripe I'd say that the first 300 yards were very crowded but thats being really picky, I'll definately be doing this again next year. Date of review: January 29, 2011

In short: Incredibly overcrowded but well supported and a great atmosphere. In full: I'm an average runner so I was in the 7th pen back from the start line, the atmosphere before the race was fantastic and getting a high five from Ant & Dec as I went over the start line made my week! My only grumble is that I found the whole course overcrowded from start to finish, spent alot of time and energy either going round or squeezing past people. However, having the Red Arrows fly over the bridge as I was on it is something I will remember forever... Date of review: January 26, 2011

In short: Not worth the £45 entrance fee!! In full: I'm an average runner who managed to get a place in the VLM last year so I took this on as a build-up to London. All I can say is that it was a decent race, well organised, not too difficult, decent scenery. But 45 quid to go again...not a chance... Date of review: January 26, 2011

In full: Seemed a bit disorganised at the start, had to collect numbers from the local pub even though we registered online well in advance. Pretty crowded the first couple of miles due to narrow path but once that cleared it turned into one of the most beautiful and scenic runs I have ever done! The Orme was long and painful but well worth the views from the top and the downhill was very welcome, could have done with a water station at the top. If these niggles can be sorted this will be a fantastic race and one I will definately be doing next year. Date of review: November 9, 2009
