In short: Worth the road trip from London
In full: Completely in love with the MoK. Wonderful place with wonderful people organising a wonderful race. Had a fantastic weekend in a place with a very special spirit and the race was the icing on the cake. Pre race pasta party, great goody bag, easy parking near the start, zumba warm up, great marshals, down hill finish, after race knees up, what more could you ask for? One small ask; I love a ceilidh but being english I can't join in unless it's 'called'. Could a couple of the dances please come with instructions so that us enthusiatic beginners can join in? See you all next year.

In short: Love Bath so will be back but not sold on the race yet
In full: I have to say if this had been my first race I probably wouldn't have ever done another one. Way too crowded at start and for most of the first half of race. Lots of bad tempered competitors crammed into lanes that were too tight for at least the first lap. All you energy is taken up with finding gaps round people who have quite clearly lied about their estimated finish time. The only option left is to hurdle the cones and risk being shouted at. The whole ban on binbags to kepp warm meant that most of the course resembled a badly organised jumble sale. Having said all that, specators were great (if a little bit too keen to stand on the edge of the pavement) music was fab, bath is beautiful and atmosphere at the end of a big race is unbeatable. My advice is make a weekend of it and don't expect too much from the race.

In short: Good local race
In full: I train at kenley so was delighted to run on home turf. Course is flat and straightforward with the added advantage of watching the gliders. Was a bit odd that there appeared to be a club run on the same course but in the opposite direction! Perhaps race lacked a bit atmosphere but that could be due to freezing winds. Maybe next year organisers could put up posters at kenley so that other users are forewarned about race, this might prevent dogs and toddlers being unexpected obstacles. Will def do again so must have had potential.

In short: great race but let down by chaos getting chip and number
In full: Fantastic views and fantastic down hill course. Brilliant control of traffic on road sections. Loved the actual race. Now for the gripes. Did they really need to make getting number and chip so complicated?!?! I spent ages in a jam packed hotel foyer and had to queue three times! Firstly to see my race number, then to get my race number (once I had found the right line of people) and then finally to get the timing chip. It was bedlam. In my case it was complicated by the fact that my irate 2 year old really couldn't understand why they couldnt send this stuff in the post like every other race. Buses to start were well organised but once there, standing in the freezing cold for an hour didn't improve my mood. Thank god the race more than made up for it. I think I'll be back if I can cope with the admin nightmare.

In short: Fabulous day, fabulous race
In full: Ran this last year and thought it was pretty awesome then; marshals, route, organisation and tech t-shirt all fab. But in addition this time it seemed most of the town had turned out to cheer us on, which always helps your race time. Got a new PB and finally got in under two hours. Stayed in a brillant B&B in the town which helped the whole experience. The only slight negative was that for a small stretch of road it was very conjested with cars and I actually had to stop running while they passed. But this is very minor and I will be back next year. Thank you Chippenham!!!

In short: Great atmosphere
In full: My first 10k race as I normally run half marathons and I really enjoyed it. Seemed to be a very quick course and not crowded so you can concentrate on running and not how to overtake large packs of people. Marshalls were very good but could have smiled a bit more as course has no spectators, so no one to cheer you on! Bit of a geek so did enjoy the plane spotting! Hope to be back next year.
