In short: Loved every second of this race........am I the only one that didn't want it to end!!!
In full: Wow!!! Amazing race with just about everything possible thrown in. I couldn't fault Axe Valley Runners with their organisation and support!! Cheery marshalls on every corner, all equiped with pots of Jelly Babies and plenty of words of encouragement. The scenery took away from that bl**dy great hill you've just clambered up!! Never seen views like it, and as the weather was in our favour aswell, they were magnificent.
Was my first Grizzly, and I didn't want it to end!! Paced myself well and managed to finish still feeling strong and get the sub 4hrs that I was hoping for. Just train on as many cliffs as possible, and if you can find a vertical climb with steps or a rope then even better!!! Loads of support and banter from fellow runners all the way round. I think this is the only race I have smiled the whole way round. Yes it was tough, but in a wierd way, very, very enjoyable!!! Great t-shirt aswell!!

In short: Fab medal and a PB to boot aswell!!!
In full: I loved this race!!! Very well organised and for a city run it didn't seem too built up, with a nice section along the Embankment. As others have said, about as flat as you'll get in Plymouth!! Everyone I've spoken to seemed to have enjoyed it, and PB's are certainly up for grabs here!! Great medal to add to the collection aswell!! A must for next year.......

In short: Hot, hard and hilly!!
In full: Although it was a very hot day there were plenty of water stations to keep you going. Long old hill mid-way, aswell as some other undulations!! That said I managed a PB, so the downhill sections give you the opportunity to make up time, if you let the handbrake off fully!!!! Great commentary to keep you going on the last lap of the track, aswell as lots of support en route. All in all, as long as you've done some hill work in training, you'll enjoy this one!!

In short: Great run with some exciting river crossings....
In full: Having run around Newnham Park before I thought I knew what to expect.....but this exceeded all my expectations!! Great run in a fabulous setting. Muddy in places but no more than you would expect in fields and woods in October! Water crossings were challenging, and deep in places if you got it wrong, but as it was quite a muggy day, they were welcomed and very refreshing!! Very well organised and I loved it!! Roll on next year....
