In short: Legs complained, but I loved it. Beautiful scenery, and lots of the friendliest, nicest marshalls you'll ever find. Perfect. In full: This was my first marathon, and I ran it as a 'test' event before a boring road marathon next month. My legs complained, but I loved it. The road marathon might be easier, but will never match this event.
I've done a few races now, and the organisation here was superb, but the real difference was the shear number (on every corner of the 26+ miles), and the friendliness of the volunteers, that made this event special.
Just on the volunteers alone, it deserves to be over-subscribed every year, and given some sort of legendary status. Can't fault it. Date of review: September 18, 2012

In short: Really great, low-key event. In full: Lovely countryside, cheerful marshals, nicely undulating/challenging course. I started at the back, so didn't hear any announcements (megaphone next year?), and it was a bit slow through the first 100m or so, but that's my own choice/fault. I'll be back next year.
