In short: Well organised, great scenery
In full: A good race for people of all abilities. Running by the side of the sea adds that special touch to the race. Due to the refurbishment of the spa conditions at the start and end were cramped, but couldn't be helped. Sally Gunnell is billed to start the race, but how many of us actually saw her? I saw more of Ant & Dec at GNR. I also have to agree with a previous runner that you do not get value for money at this race. Nothing in goodie bag except literature for Scarbrough, no medal and the t-shirt although brilliant this year with the halloween theme it looks as though it is likely to be of similar design each year. Come on give us a medal!

In short: Fantastic, special event
In full: This was my first GNR and only my 2nd Half Marathon. I was in my pen very early thanks to excellent organisation by Nirvana. The crowd along the route were fantastic despite the very wet weather. Their ice-pops, oranges, jelly babies, hose pipes, biscuits and wet wipes were very much appreciated. Ant and Dec were brilliant. They kept us amused as we waited over half an hour to reach the start. One disappointment was that People who finished long after me were able to start in white/organe pens whilst I was way back in green. People were walking before we had even reached 3 miles and this was frustrating as I seriously wanted to run and couldn't get through for walkers walking 3 and 4 abreast up the middle of the road! However that said the organisers cannot be held responsible for people lieing about their abilities. I will hopefully be back next year! Well done everyone involved

In short: Good event
In full: I Enjoyed this years race better than last year despite being slower due to having 3 month out with injury. I liked the change to the course at Hillsbrough and the finish. Still hate the killer hill at the end! Well organised, ni bottle necks, plenty of toilets. Well done Sheffield see you next year

In short: Great first Half Marathon
In full: This was my first half marathon after only starting to run last september. The weather was hot, but the atmosphere was good. I agree that I would have preferred bottles and not cups. I would have preferred powerade at halfway mark. Loved the sponges, I was ready for a cool down.

Great organisation, plenty of marshalls very little queuing. Well done Sheffield lets hope the GNR is as good!

In short: Gorgeous scenery
In full: The start was a little congested. The cobbles were difficuly to run on and one man near me went over on his ankle very awkwardly. The weather was unexpectedly warm today and the water stations were too close together. I would have liked a medal at the end (my kids like these!)

In short: Fairly flat except last 1km
In full: This was my first ever race and didn't know what to expect. Didn't feel out of place as a novice runner, so I would recommend it to others. There was a lot of bottle necks at beginning down to runners not being truthful about their times. Watch out for the very UPHILL finish, make sure you keep something in reserve! I will be back next year as I now have a PB to beat!
